Lineage overview
The royal family of the Drum Kingdom. First named on-page in Ch. 136 (p. 12) when Dalton tells Wapol “You are the son of the former king to whom I am indebted” — establishing that Wapol inherited the throne from a former king (his father). The surname is not given in this chapter — Wapol’s full name Wapometo III (from his Ch. 134 cross-reference aliases) is the regnal name, not a clear surname.

The succession-corruption pattern
Ch. 136 (p. 12) installs the good-king-from-bad-heir succession pattern for the Drum monarchy: the former king was apparently respectable enough that Dalton — one of the Three Officers of the realm — swore personal loyalty to him. Wapol inherited the throne from this respected predecessor and corrupted it into a hostage regime (the Twenty Doctors monopolization, the abandonment of the people during the Blackbeard invasion).
Dalton’s defection from the regime is therefore not just a moral act but the breaking of an oath given to the father by repudiating the son. The good-king/bad-heir succession pattern pre-loads the broader Alabasta-saga axis (Cobra the good-king vs. Crocodile’s false-king coup) and the series-pattern of kings whose successors corrupt the throne (Riku-Doflamingo, etc.).
Open questions
- What was the former king’s name? Not given in Ch. 136. Possibly resolved in SBS forward-canon.
- How did the former king die? Not on-page; the implication is natural death / illness given the medical-tyranny backdrop.
- Does Wapol have other siblings or a mother? Not on-page as of Ch. 136.

Per vault-taxonomy guidance, even unconfirmed-but-strongly-implied lineages get an entry with the unconfirmed-rumored section populated — Wapol inheriting from a father-king is a confirmed implication, so this qualifies for a Family note. The surname is left blank because Drum doesn’t have a clear royal surname; Wapometo III (Wapol’s regnal title alias) is used as a soft anchor for the lineage’s identity.
