Ch. 145 flashes back to before the Tin Tyrant Pirates existed as a pirate crew — when Wapol’s followers were Drum-regime officers, not a pirate band. The reframe: the Tin Tyrant Pirates are the same personnel as Wapol’s pre-deposition kingdom-officer cohort, rebranded as pirates when the regime fell. This is consistent with Ch. 135’s captions for Chess (Former Drum Kingdom Evil Chief-of-Staff) and Kuromarimo (Former Drum Kingdom Evil Magistrate) — kingdom-titles, not pirate-titles.

Drum Island (Ch. 152) — Wapol launched off Drum Castle; Chess + Kuromarimo arrive after the fact and dispatch from the chapter without a fight
Chess and Kuromarimo arrive at the castle moments later (pp. 6-7) — find the kingdom-seat already changed hands; do not engage. Their on-panel Drum-arc presence ends here.
The crew is effectively dispersed by chapter’s end. Wapol is sky-launched; the officers retire without combat. The Tin Tyrant Pirates do not return on-page this arc.
Drum Island (Ch. 149) — Wapol + Kuromarimo defeated by Chopper at Drum Castle
Ch. 149: At Drum Castle. Wapol and Kuromarimo (only) fight Chopper — Chess does not appear this chapter. Wapol fights from the snowy spires; Kuromarimo provides ranged backup with the new Snow-Melting Arrow / Super Surprise / Snow-Slicing Blade / Multi-Directional Snow Splitter technique-suite. Wapol takes Chopper’s combined Brain-Boost / Scope / Quattro-Hammer chin-strike and is staggered (p. 16); chapter ends with Wapol dazed, Chopper announcing “Cloven…” and vanishing from sight.

Drum Island (Ch. 148) — at Drum Castle; defeated by Luffy
Ch. 148: At Drum Castle. Wapol, Chess, Kuromarimo defend the castle against Luffy and Chopper. Wapol blasts the pirate-flag-defender (Chopper) with cannon (KA-BLOOM), turns the cannon on the wounded Sanji and announces he will vaporize him, and is stretched-fisted out of the castle by Luffy. Defeat-state at chapter’s end: Wapol, Chess, Kuromarimo all sent flying by SHABAM!!!.
Chessmarimo fusion ended off-page between Ch. 147 and Ch. 148 — Chess and Kuromarimo are back to independent-body form. The crew’s officer-count is restored to two-plus-king.
Drum Island (Ch. 141) — Doctor Hunt named as Wapol’s signature atrocity; reach Drum Castle
The crew is canonized as the executor of Wapol’s Doctor Hunt — a state-led purge of all non-Twenty doctors on Drum Island (p. 6). The security force shown firing on Hiriluk in the flashback (p. 12) is the enforcement arm of this policy.
Reach Drum Castle (pp. 5-9), find the pirate-flag in place of Drum Kingdom’s flag, confront Kureha and Chopper, and are immediately attacked by Luffy. Wapol’s officers (Chess and Kuromarimo) are present throughout.
Drum Island (Ch. 139) — vassal-network occupation of Big Horn; Dalton declared dead
Vassal-network occupation of Big Horn — Wapol’s pre-coup officials drop the survivor-villager cover and re-don their uniforms the moment Wapol lands (pp. 6-7). They declare themselves “King Wapol’s vassals” and openly coerce the Drum civilians (“To defy him is death!!!”). The crew’s restored regime now controls Big Horn (the village protected by Dalton). Crews/Wapol Pirates with captain Wapol and crewman Chess. This is the same crew as the
already-canonical Tin Tyrant Pirates — Wapol Pirates is folded into this single note,
not split off.
Ch. 149 — Wapol + Kuromarimo lose to Chopper at Drum Castle. First sustained Tin Tyrants combat scene; Wapol takes a chin-strike from Chopper’s combined Brain-Boost/Scope/Quattro-Hammer assault and is staggered (p. 16). Chess does not appear this chapter. Kuromarimo unveils his Marimo’s Snow-Melting Arrow, Marimo’s Super Surprise, Snow-Slicing Blade, and Multi-Directional Snow Splitter technique-suite. The crew’s combat grammar is formally installed as a counterpart to Chopper’s Boost-suite, then defeated by it in the same chapter. Wapol also names Iron Hooves in passing (p. 11) — a Baku Baku no Mi mode named without visual deployment. Wapol states the canonical Zoan three-stage transformation rule on-page (p. 8: ‘Zoan types are limited to THREE TRANSFORMATIONS!!!!’) and articulates the Dalton is a Zoan villain-tell (p. 5: ‘A half-beast, like Dalton!! Ch. 147 — Two officers fused into Chessmarimo via the Munch-Munch Factory. Wapol declares the true-power line (‘I’ll show them… the true power of the Munch-Munch Fruit!!!’, p. 6) and demonstrates the fruit’s eat-and-fuse mode on his own subordinates. The Munch-Munch Factory swallows officers Chess and Kuromarimo whole (p. 9 — villagers cry ‘CANNIBAL!!! HE’S EATING HIS OWN MEN!!!’) and fuses them into a single piggyback-style two-headed officer body, CHESSMARIMO (pp. 10-11). The Tin Tyrant Pirates’ officer count drops from two-plus-king to one fused officer plus the king. Wapol’s Munch-Munch Factory canonized as the crew’s defining grotesque-power tool — the eat-your-own-men-as-power register is now the crew’s central image. Wapol also pronounces the First Article of the Drum Kingdom’s Constitution (‘Whosoever defies the king’s wishes shall die’, p. 12) — the crew’s restored absolute-monarchy doctrine; and destroys Hiriluk’s pirate-flag from above Drum Castle (p. 12, 17). Ch. 146 — The crew reaches Drum Castle and is repelled. Wapol’s faction finally arrives at Drum Castle and finds it occupied by Kureha, Chopper, and the recovering Nami, under Hiriluk’s pirate-flag. The battle plays out on the castle wall. First on-page named techniques for both officers — Kuromarimo’s Marimo’s Static Cling (detachable flammable hair-pom-poms) and Chess’s flaming-arrow archery — combined as a stick-and-burn combined-arms tactic. Wapol’s quilt-body absorbs Luffy’s punches but his combat-grammar is otherwise comedic (leaves the fight to put on warmer clothes, p. 6). The chapter ends with Luffy’s Armée de l’Air / Air Assault slingshot-kick sending Wapol and Robson off the castle wall, and Wapol’s Munch-Munch Factory cliffhanger threat. Ch. 139 — Vassal-network reactivation in Big Horn. Wapol’s pre-coup officials drop the survivor-villager facade and openly re-don their uniforms the moment Wapol lands (pp. 6-7). Civilian-vassal thugs corner the villagers demanding to dig out the buried Dalton: “We’re King Wapol’s vassals!! You used to serve under him!! Don’t you even care!!?” / “To defy him is death!!!”. They also declare “Dalton’s dead!!!” — moving to eliminate the village’s protector. Wapol does not appear on-page; the regime’s reactivation does. Ch. 138 — First on-page Tin Tyrant Pirates combat performance. Wapol on Robson catches the Straw Hats on the Drum mountainside (pp. 2-9). Wapol decrees a new royal law (“Anyone who ignores the king, dies!”) and orders Chess to execute the sick and injured Straw Hats. Chess fires arrow-volleys and calls “CHECKMATE!!!” on his kill-shot (which misses — absorbed by the Lapin pack). Kuromarimo debuts his Snow Powder Makeup / Snow Country Attraction technique — afro-pom-poms thrown as detachable projectiles that aerosolize the snowfield into a blinding concealment cloud. Wapol articulates the faction-doctrine: “This is snow country combat. The white mantle!!! SNOW POWDER MAKEUP!!!” — the Wapol Pirates are a snow-island fighting faction, not generic henchmen. The pursuit is cut off by a Lapin pack that protects the Straw Hats (pp. 8-10); Wapol does not reach the summit this chapter. Ch. 137 — Bighorn convergence; first on-page on-screen abandonment of subjects. The Tin Tyrant Pirates (Wapol, Chess, Kuromarimo, Robson) on-the-ground in Bighorn for the Straw Hat kill-order. Forced to abort and flee on Robson’s serious mode form as the avalanche bears down. Refuse to take Bighorn villagers on the mount (“Silence!!! Fend for yourselves”). Ch. 136 — The march on Bighorn and the first Dalton/Wapol clash. Wapol’s column reaches Bighorn and eats the village houses (p. 5); Dalton intercepts and decapitates Wapol (pp. 7-8); the medical squad reattaches the head (pp. 9-10). Chess (with Kuromarimo) declares the Three Officers past-peer history with the defector Dalton and shoots him with an arrow when the villagers arrive in Dalton’s line of fire (pp. 15-16). The chapter installs the Twenty Doctors, External Injury Squad as a sub-unit of the Tin Tyrant Pirates — Wapol’s surgical retinue that functions as his survivability layer. Ch. 135 — The crew lands on Drum and Wapol moves to retake the throne. Wapol’s submersible warship “suddenly appeared out of the sea” and the crew crashes through, killing the coastal guards (pp. 11-12, 17). Wapol declares himself “no longer a pirate” and “a king once again” and heads for the castle. His two officers are formally captioned on-page for the first time as a pair: Chess — Former Drum Kingdom Evil Chief-of-Staff — and Kuromarimo — Former Drum Kingdom Evil Magistrate (p. 15); they track the Straw Hats’ footprints toward Bighorn. Wapol’s mount Robson (Wooly Hippo) is named (p. 13). Wapol orders the crew to “Kill them all!!!” over a prior off-page grudge against the Straw Hats. Ch. 134 — The crew returns to Drum Island. Wapol’s pirate ship is sighted off the coast of Drum Island; crewman Chess, the ship’s lookout, spots it through binoculars — “it’s our homeland!!! It’s Drum Island!!!!” (p. 11). Wapol: “How many long, hard months has it been? We’ve finally come home!” The ship lands (DOOM!!, p. 12). Dalton canonizes the crew’s nature off-page (pp. 2-3): the pirate part is a cover — the crew is the vehicle by which the deposed king of Drum, having fled his country, intends to return and reclaim the kingdom that now fears him most. Ch. 131 — First appearance. The Tin Tyrant Pirates ambush the Going Merry in the snowy seas near Drum Kingdom. Wapol’s submersible warship the Bliking surfaces beneath the Merry (KER-SPLOOSH) and unfolds into a paddle-wheel battleship. Wapol uses the Baku Baku no Mi to begin eating the Straw Hats’ ship — rigging, anchor-rope, hull — and bites Luffy; the Luffy-vs-Wapol clash is joined at chapter close.
