Ch. 141 p. 7 — Wapol to Dr. Kureha:
The two lines couple: Wapol denies the validity of any memorial for a non-Twenty doctor; the charlatan register is the rhetorical move that licenses the iconoclasm (smashing the memorial) as a correction.
The payoff
(Pending forward-canon — the Drum arc’s emotional climax: the cherry-blossom-snow that literally falls over Drum Castle, making the entire castle into a Hiriluk-memorial that Wapol cannot suppress. The people’s memory of Hiriluk survives the tyrant’s attempt to erase it.)
Why this matters
Wapol’s restoration is not the simple re-installation of a deposed king; it is a memory war against the people his tyranny made into legends (Hiriluk, Dalton, the Doctor Hunt’s dead). The Drum arc’s moral climax is the people’s-memory-of-Hiriluk surviving Wapol’s iconoclasm.
Tyrant-iconoclasm template: this is an early Oda articulation of a recurring villain-doctrine — the bad king erases the memorial / suppresses the song / burns the books of those his tyranny killed.
