Summary

Open questions raised

What was in Drum Castle’s weapons room? Wapol claims a ‘terrifying human weapon’ is stored there — the door of fear. The room is never opened in this chapter. Forward-canon to be seen if the weapon ever materializes.
How long has Wapol been gone? The snowbird-nest in the cannon implies a substantial time-gap — long enough for wildlife to reclaim military hardware. Suggests his exile was years, not months (the Ch. 133 ‘few months ago’ framing of the Blackbeard conquest is in tension with the long-dormancy implied here).
