  • The 'Dark King' Silvers Rayleigh — an old-era legend — is being sold at a Sabaody slave auction; Marine HQ debates a covert recovery, fearing the navy can't take on 'two legends at the same time' with the looming war (p. 2-3).
  • The Human Auctioning House (Grove 1) and the World-Government-tolerated slave economy are shown on-page, with a posted price list ranking 'saleable humans' (criminals + citizens of non-WG nations) and non-human peoples by minimum bid (p. 4-7).
  • Price list establishes non-human peoples as merchandise: Human 500k, Dwarf/Mink/Longarm/Longleg/Snakeneck 700k, Fish-Man 1M, male Giant 50M, female Mermaid 70M (bifurcated 10M), Devil Fruit user 'Special' (p. 7).
  • Celestial Dragons (World Nobles) are inside the auction house, which makes it impossible for the Straw Hats to fight (p. 14).
  • Slaves wear chained, exploding collars; the captured Camie is fitted with one, so any rescue must avoid breaking the chain (p. 14).
  • A newspaper reveals 'Fire Fist' Ace — commander of Whitebeard's Second Division — is to be publicly executed, which will mean open war between the World Government and Whitebeard (p. 18-19).
  • Rival rookies Trafalgar Law, Eustass Kid and 'Captain' X Drake are all present at Sabaody and read the Ace/war news (p. 6, 17-19).

Summary

At Marine Headquarters a vice admiral receives word that the “Dark King” Silvers Rayleigh is being sold at a Sabaody slave auction “as they would any old man”; he orders the report kept even from Fleet Admiral Sengoku, judging that with a war already brewing the navy cannot afford to take on “two legends at the same time.” On Sabaody, the monthly Human Grand Auction opens at Grove 1 under the auctioneer Disco — a “HUMAN” hall where criminals and citizens of non-Government nations are sold by a posted price list that values mermaids, giants and fish-men as premium merchandise. The scattered Straw Hats and their allies race to Grove 1 from every direction (Sanji and Chopper riding Duval’s flying fish, Luffy thrashing through the water) to rescue the captured mermaid Camie before she is auctioned. Hatchan, Pappag and Franky reach the hall first and try to buy or force her back, but discover Celestial Dragons are inside — making a fight impossible — so Nami resolves to win Camie back by the shop’s own rules, declaring she doesn’t care what it costs. Meanwhile a newspaper sweeps the archipelago: “Fire Fist” Ace, commander of Whitebeard’s Second Division, is to be publicly executed — and every rookie crew at Sabaody, from X Drake’s to Eustass Kid’s, realizes this means war.
