Summary
As the Straw Hats flee Egghead aboard the Sunny, Luffy in his Gear 5 / Nika form and Jewelry Bonney in her Nika-mimic form together press the wounded Gorosei St. Jaygarcia Saturn, who mocks Bonney’s transformation as a “pale imitation” and snarls “Insects!! Vermin!!” Intercut with Bonney’s resolve — her parents’ love (Ginny holding her as a baby, “Thank you for being born”), her refusal to die alone, and her belief that “gods do exist” — Luffy lands a finishing “Nika Punch” that blows Saturn to pieces (“Good job, Bonney!!!”). Threaded through the whole chapter is Vegapunk’s message echoing across the world: one day the memories of the Void Century will be recalled; the sinking of the world’s continents was a man-made disaster wrought by weapons that still exist today; the World Government’s “machinations of history and fate” demand the obliteration of the “last descendants of rare races” — shown via a hunted Buccaneer, a winged elder recalling a vanished “land of gods atop the Red Line,” a three-eyed girl, and a Lunarian. Vegapunk recasts the deaths of Whitebeard and Roger as “merely the prologue of a new era” and signs off “I believe in science!!!” Roger’s own words resurface — “It’s yours if you can find it… My treasure? Why, it’s right where I left it.” The chapter closes on a global montage of contenders reacting to the broadcast — Rayleigh & Shakky, Shanks’ Red Force, Blackbeard’s Pirate Island Fullalead, Buggy’s Cross Guild at Emptee Bluffs Island (Mihawk & Crocodile present), and a panicked Marine HQ — as narration declares the fate of the world now rests on “the person who lays claim… TO THE ONE PIECE!!!”
New reveals
- Vegapunk’s broadcast resounds worldwide. Void Century memories “will be recalled”; the sinking of the world’s continents was “a man-made disaster brought about by weapons” — weapons that “still exist today” (pp. 5–6).
- The WG targets the “last descendants of rare races” for obliteration. The montage spotlights a Buccaneer (“Are you a Buccaneer?!”), a winged elder (“there used to be a land of gods up there!! Atop the Red Line…”), a three-eyed girl, and a Lunarian (“100 million for tips on your kind”) (pp. 5–6).
- Whitebeard (2 yrs) and Roger (25 yrs) deaths = “merely the prologue of a new era.” Vegapunk closes “I believe in the intelligence of mankind… I believe in science!!!” (p. 10).
- Roger’s words echo: “It’s yours if you can find it… My treasure? Why, it’s right where I left it.” (p. 14) — dialogue-from-dead-character beat tying to the One Piece.
- Gorosei Saturn blown to pieces by Luffy’s “Nika Punch” + Bonney (pp. 11–12). Defeated/scattered; status NOT confirmed dead .
- Emperor bases established/labeled: Red Force (Shanks), Pirate Island Fullalead (Blackbeard, “Is the Commodore’s crew back yet?!”), Emptee Bluffs Island (Buggy/Cross Guild), Rayleigh & Shakky, Marine HQ (“We must find it first!! It cannot happen!!”) (pp. 14–15).
- The race for the One Piece is declared. “The fate of the world now rests… in the hands of the one who finds it!! The person who lays claim… TO THE ONE PIECE!!!” (pp. 15–17).

Open questions raised
- What is the “land of gods atop the Red Line” the winged elder names — the original holders of Mary Geoise, Birka, or the Lunarians’ origin?
- Is Gorosei Saturn truly dead, or will he regenerate (the Five Elders’ apparent immortality)?
- Who is “the one Joyboy desired” to inherit the One Piece — and how does the eventual finder diverge from that intent?
- How does Vegapunk’s full message square with the ch. 1117 cut-off on “D…?!” — what, if anything, of the “D” portion reached the world?
