Summary

Vegapunk’s island-wide broadcast keeps playing to a panicking world. He apologizes for his life’s work — the Mother Flame, an inexhaustible “fire that never goes out” meant to power the industry of the future — confessing that a stolen piece of it was used to activate an ancient weapon that erased the Lulusia Kingdom roughly two weeks after the theft (the sky shone with a powerful light; the kingdom “vanished without a trace”), and that he has “inadvertently proven” the man-made disaster that once sank the world is possible again. He states there were three ancient weapons in the past, that Joy Boy attempted to preserve them for the future, and that the world’s secrets now rest “in the hands of the King of the Pirates’ crew” — sending Marineford, Wano (Momonosuke nearly blurts that Pluton is in Wano), Fish-Man Island, and assorted kingdoms into uproar. On Egghead, the Labophase basement and the CP agents have fallen; Edison consoles a torn Stussy (she chose to save the Vegapunks over freeing her old friend Kaku — “inner conflict is a calling card of humanity”), while the team realizes the betrayer York stole the Mother Flame, though the timeline of the government’s response “doesn’t add up.” The transmission transponder snail broadcasting everything is housed in the Iron Giant (Emet) in the Fabriophase — under its protection, the Five Elders’ attacks do nothing and Emet’s eyes reignite. At Sabaody, a drunken Rayleigh is tended by Shakky; the broadcast notes the Roger Pirates learned all the true history yet didn’t act and drifted apart, and Rayleigh raises a glass — “Don’t rob the young’uns of all the fun. Right, Roger…?”
