Mountain Wind · alive · Galley-La Company (Water Seven) · first on-page Ch. 325
Profile
A Galley-La Company ship carpenter with a distinctly square nose — the Dock 1 carpentry foreman nicknamed “Mountain Wind,” who “runs around town freely” at superhuman speed. Secretly a CP9 agent (Rokushiki user) — a fact NOT stated on-page this chapter; his later CP9 reveal is forward-canon (@0345).
Arc-by-arc updates
Egghead — epilogue: CP0 escapes (Ch. 1125) — shown
- With Lucci among the escaping CP0; asks “where’s Stussy?” and is stunned by the report of her death (p.2).
Egghead — Punk Records; spares Stussy (Ch. 1119) — shown
- Deliberately spares/releases the traitor Stussy before Lucci can reach her: “a cold-blooded colleague whom I respect, maybe… but once Lucci gets here, I won’t be able to stop him!! …You think we’re friends…? Don’t make me laugh. JUST GO!!!” (p. 2) — pushes her away harshly to make her flee.
- Cross-link Stussy, Rob Lucci.
Egghead — gravely wounded (Ch. 1111) — shown
Egghead — CP0 vs Luffy & Zoro (Ch. 1076)
Egghead — cuffed alongside Lucci, targeted by the Seraphim (Ch. 1075)
Egghead — neutralized alongside Lucci (Ch. 1073)
Egghead — fights Zoro in an altered form, then put to sleep by Stussy (Ch. 1072)
- Appears in a grotesque, elongated form unlike his normal giraffe hybrid (“he’s supposed to be a giraffe… why does he look like that?” / “he didn’t look quite like that before”); attacks Zoro with “Nose Pistol” (pp. 14–15).
- At the chapter’s end, fellow CP0 agent Stussy bites him and “put[s] him to sleep” (p. 17).
Egghead — “Sky Slicer” on the Sunny (Ch. 1071)
- With CP0 on Egghead; once the barrier drops, attacks the Straw Hats’ ship with “Sky Slicer!!!,” a flying Rankyaku-class slash, alongside Lucci (p. 11).
Egghead — the CP0 raid; “Axe Boy” reunion (Ch. 1069)
- Part of the CP0 raid on Egghead; reunites with Luffy, who calls him “Axe Boy” — banter (“Long time no see!”; “Don’t call me by the name of my weapon, Straw Hat!”). Notes Luffy is now an Emperor and has “that weird look goin’ on.”
- Fights alongside Lucci; the agents are caught out by the Seraphim’s authority ranking on the Pacifista Authority Hierarchy (CP0 holds only Authority Chips).
Egghead — CP-0 infiltration (Ch. 1068)
- Lands with CP-0 via S-Bear’s paw-power. Uses Tempest Kick (Rankyaku) on a “space monster” (which proves to be a hologram), then is caught and burned by the Frontier Dome laser grid that Stussy failed to warn him about (p. 12-14).
Egghead — CP0 deployed to eliminate the Vegapunks (Ch. 1062)
- Aboard the CP0 ship in the New World with Rob Lucci and Stussy — labeled on-page “Cipher Pol Aegis-0 / Masked Killers” — and helps brief Lucci on Vegapunk’s six-satellite split (p. 16-17). Bound for Egghead under orders to eliminate the Vegapunks while sparing the lab.
- Cross-link CP-0, Rob Lucci, Stussy.
Reverie — returns as a CP0 agent (Ch. 907)
- Reappears for the first time since Enies Lobby, named on-page as a member of CP0 alongside Rob Lucci and Stussy at the Mary Geoise Mingling Courtyard (p. 12). Cross-link CP-0, Rob Lucci, Stussy.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 417 — “Asura”) — Fights Zoro in full giraffe-Zoan form; four-sword style; “Sky Slicer”; apparently struck down by Asura
- At the Tower of Law, fights Zoro in his giraffe-Zoan form — the “hidden strength of the wild beast known as the giraffe” (p. 2). Demonstrates neck/limb length-control (“a pasta machine,” Zoro’s term; “I pulled my neck in so far, my legs grew!”, pp. 6, 8) and fires animal-named blasts “Giraffe Cannon” (p. 3, 6) and “Giraffe Blast” (pp. 3, 7, 13).
- Reasons that by “controlling the length of my neck and limbs… I can use swords to full effect” and reveals a FOUR-sword style (“I too can perform the four-sword style… full use of my giraffe power!!”, pp. 9–11).
- Uses Six Powers (Rokushiki): Iron Body (Tekkai), Moon Walk (Geppo, “jumped to a higher floor”), Tempest Kick (Rankyaku) including “Tempest Kick Shuriken” (p. 13) and his strongest, “Sky Slicer” — a wide slicing wind he claims can “cut through the tower” (pp. 16, 17).
- ⚠️ The fruit is STILL not named on-page — record only the giraffe Zoan animal-theme. The Kaku-giraffe seed stays
confirmed @0401(additional on-page evidence, NOT a re-flip). Apparently struck down by Zoro’s “Asura … Silver Mist” (pp. 18–19; cliffhanger — not confirmed defeated). Cross-link Zoro, CP9, Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan, Spandam Gifts Kaku And Kalifa Devil Fruits Pre-Mission, Zoro Asura Nine-Sword Demon-God Will-Illusion Debut, Six Powers (Rokushiki).
Enies Lobby (Ch. 416 — “Zolo vs. Kaku”) — Full giraffe-man duel with Zoro; giraffe-named attacks; both end standing
- Giraffe Zoan on full display. Transforms into a long-necked, horned giraffe-man (“I’ll eat you alive!!”, pp. 8-10) — continuing the on-page payoff of the “horn” 角 reading of his name.
- Giraffe-form / Rokushiki-blended techniques named here: Giraffe Scythe (p. 11), Tempest Kick (Rankyaku, pp. 12/16), Giraffe Shower (p. 13), Nose Pistol (a stretched-neck Finger-Pistol variant, pp. 14/18); hardens into an Iron-Body “perfect cube” (p. 12).
- Trades blows and mutual respect with Zoro across the whole chapter; both end standing, bloodied (“It’ll take more than a horse to keep me down”, p. 15; “I’m impressed”, p. 15). Asks the chapter’s central combat question: “could you have cut me if I’d been metal?” (p. 17).
- ⚠️ The fruit’s formal NAME is NOT printed on-page this chapter — record only that the giraffe FORM is shown; the forward-canon name is not asserted here. The Kaku-giraffe seed stays
confirmed @0401. Cross-link Zoro, CP9, Six Powers (Rokushiki), Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 414 — “Sanji vs. Jabra”) — Transformed animal form glimpsed in silhouette vs. Zoro
- First on-page view this chapter of Kaku’s post-fruit form: giraffe-patterned (spotted, blocky, hoof-like) legs shown in silhouette (“KLANG”, p. 7) as Zoro presses toward him. The fruit/animal is NOT named on-page this chapter — the “horn” reading of 角 is vindicated visually only.
The Kaku-giraffe seed stays
confirmed @0401(already paid off on the FORM @0401; the 0414 silhouette is additional evidence, NOT a re-flip). Cross-link Zoro, CP9, Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 413 — “The Hunter”) — Giraffe-Zoan combat form on-page; Nose Pistol; “considerable power”
- Fights Zoro on the courthouse approach in his TRANSFORMED giraffe-Zoan form — the first on-page showing of the giraffe FORM in active combat (giraffe-patterned, elongated neck, horned head) (pp. 8-11).
- Explains his new power: “I gained muscles that let me manipulate my neck… and use my nose like a pistol!”; fires Nose Pistol (pp. 9-10). Nami (nearby) observes “Kaku has gained considerable power” (p. 11).
- ⚠️ The Devil-Fruit NAME remains unspoken on-page this chapter — this is the giraffe-FORM combat debut, NOT the fruit-name reveal. The Kaku-giraffe seed stays
confirmed @0401(already paid off on the FORM @0401; the 0413 giraffe form is additional evidence, NOT a re-flip). Cross-link Zoro, Nami, CP9, Six Powers (Rokushiki), Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 412 — “You Missed Your Chance”) — Giraffe-shaped transformed form shown on-page; provokes Zoro
- Appears in a clearly giraffe-shaped transformed form (long spotted neck) while baiting Zoro into their fight: “Heh heh… are you finally free to fight?” / “You won’t get another chance to beat me… World Government goons!!” (p. 19). Cross-link Zoro, CP9, Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan, Spandam Gifts Kaku And Kalifa Devil Fruits Pre-Mission.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 410 — “Super-Size Nami”) — Among the agents evacuating ahead of the Buster Call
- Amid the Buster-Call panic, urges his group to “clean this up and hurry to the Gates of Justice” (p. 6), shown evacuating with the other agents. Cross-link CP9, Gates of Justice, Buster Call.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 402 — “Handcuffs No. 2”) — Giraffe Zoan in combat; cuts the Tower of Law in half; the fruit caption first prints
- In giraffe man-beast form, fights Zoro & Sniper King two-on-two alongside Jabra (wolf) — “our prey have become connected” (p. 10). His reveal pose (“Behold… I am reborn… with unthinkable power!”) is undercut by Sniper King’s “SUPER LAME!!” (p. 4). The VIZ caption naming his fruit — “OX-OX FRUIT, GIRAFFE MODEL” — appears on p. 2 (a recap of the 0401 form reveal; this is the earliest on-page printing of the fruit label → Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model Giraffe is created and
devil_fruitfilled at this chapter). - “Tempest Kick — Sky Slicer” (giraffe-augmented Rankyaku): combines reach + the centrifugal force of his huge body to cut “much sharper and deeper,” cleaving the Tower of Law clean in half (pp. 6-8) — the cut slides apart without breaking anything (“I can see the sky”).
- Bound up in the numbered seastone-handcuff puzzle: Kaku’s key does NOT match Zoro & Sniper King’s “Number Two” cuff (p. 12). Cross-link Zoro, Usopp, Jabra, Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model Giraffe, Six Powers (Rokushiki), CP9, Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 401 — “Pirates vs. CP9”) — Duels Zoro; “best swordsman in CP9”; Four-Sword Style; transforms into a full GIRAFFE
- Faces Zoro in Lucci’s stairway room; demands the key to Robin’s handcuffs and declares “I am the best swordsman in CP9. Don’t take me lightly” (pp. 4-5). Recalls “When I was back at Galley-La… I regretted not being able to see your true powers” (p. 5).
- Reveals a FOUR-sword style (“Two-Sword Style, eh?” → “It’s four swords / Sorry but…”, pp. 5-6); trades Rankyaku (“Tempest Kick”) and Soru (“Shave”) against Zoro’s “White Thunder!! Pound Phoenix!!” (pp. 5-10). “He can slash from almost any angle…!” (p. 11).
- Pressed for time, announces “I’ll show you… my new power” (p. 11) and transforms — intending his man-beast form, he overshoots into a FULL GIRAFFE (“I was trying to use my man-beast form… but I turned into a full giraffe instead!”, pp. 18-19), crashing through the ceiling beside Jabra-the-wolf (“A giraffe?!” / “Is this some kind of zoo?!”).
- ⚠️ The giraffe FORM is shown here (vindicating the “horn” reading of 角) but the fruit’s proper name is NOT uttered/printed this chapter —
devil_fruitSTAYS BLANK; record only that the giraffe Zoan form is shown. Cross-link Zoro, CP9, Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan, Six Powers (Rokushiki).
Enies Lobby (Ch. 389 — “Response”) — Among the CP9 cell; brief balcony scuffle frame
- Present in the assembled CP9 home cell watching the courthouse stand-off (pp. 18–19); a brief beat in frame near the balcony scuffle (“Hey, Kaku, are you that upset?” — ”…I like it.”, p. 16). No fight, no power demonstrated.
- ⚠️ His Devil Fruit is still unnamed through this chapter —
devil_fruitSTAYS BLANK; the Kaku-giraffe seed stayspending(giraffe form is forward). Cross-link CP9, Rob Lucci.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 385 — “There Is a Way”) — Eats a second (still-UNNAMED) Devil Fruit offered by Lucci in the Tower of Law
- In Rob Lucci’s Room, eats an (unnamed) Devil Fruit offered by Lucci (“This could be fun”, p. 6) despite Jabra’s warning (“Kaku! Don’t do it!”, p. 5). Visibly transforms (spiral-vortex art); Lucci notes “new powers have been born” and tells him to identify them (pp. 7-8).
- ⚠️ The specific fruit/power is NOT named this chapter — record only that Kaku gained an unnamed Devil Fruit power here.
devil_fruitstays BLANK; the forward-canon Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model Giraffe is NOT asserted; the Kaku-giraffe seed remainspending(its naming/payoff is forward, ~ch 403). Cross-link Rob Lucci, Jabra, Kalifa, Blueno, CP9, Nature of Devil Fruits, Spandam Gifts Kaku And Kalifa Devil Fruits Pre-Mission, Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan.
Enies Lobby (Ch. 379 — “Power Level”) — Tewaza Ranking #2 (PL 2,200); “special backup sword”; eats a Devil Fruit (UNNAMED on-page)
- Tewaza Ranking: Power Level 2,200 — #2 (p. 10); “Kaku has grown strong as well.”
- Claims a “special backup sword” on top of mastering the Six Powers (p. 11).
- ⚠️ Eats a Devil Fruit gifted by Director Spandam from a treasure chest, on the spot (“I feel fantastic!!”) — the in-arc origin of his CP9 Devil Fruit power (pp. 12-13). The fruit is NOT named on-page here —
devil_fruitstays BLANK; the forward-canon Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model Giraffe is NOT asserted, and the Kaku-giraffe Foreshadowing seed remainspending(its naming/payoff is forward, ~ch 403). Cross-link Spandam, Rob Lucci, Kalifa, CP9, Spandam Gifts Kaku And Kalifa Devil Fruits Pre-Mission, Kaku Name 角 Horn-Square Encodes Giraffe Zoan.
Water Seven (Ch. 373 — “Necessary Evil”) — In the government car with the CP9 cell aboard the sea train
- Among the unmasked CP9 cell (with Lucci and Kalifa) in the government car as the kidnap Sea Train runs for Enies Lobby (pp. 8-12). No combat beat this chapter. Cross-link CP9, Rob Lucci, Kalifa, Nico Robin, Sea Train.
Water Seven (Ch. 352) — Among the four CP9 at the Franky House confrontation
Water Seven (Ch. 348) — Sword-duels Zoro; confirmed a genuine bladed combatant
- Sword-duels Zoro (“KLANG KLANG”, pp. 8–10) — first clear showing that Kaku is a genuine bladed combatant, not merely a disguised shipwright.
- When Zoro spits “You weren’t a real shipwright!!”, Kaku insists his earlier ship assessment “was given in all seriousness… that is unfortunate” (pp. 9–10) — keeps the deadpan professional register. Cross-link Zoro, CP9, Rob Lucci.
Water Seven (Ch. 347) — Among the four unmasked CP9; the “square-nose guy” shipwright
- Unmasked among the four CP9 agents; recognized by the crew as the “square-nose guy” who had posed as a Galley-La Company shipwright (p. 5). Stands with CP9 walling the Straw Hats into the burning mansion (pp. 18–19). Cross-link CP9, Rob Lucci, Nico Robin, Six Powers (Rokushiki).
Water Seven (Ch. 346) — Named on-page among the unmasked CP9 in Iceberg’s room
- Named on-page among the unmasked CP9 in Iceberg’s room — the leader directs “…check his pulse. Kaku…” (p. 8), confirming Kaku is one of the CP9 agents present for the Den-Den-Mushi-lie-detector interrogation (paying off the @0343/@0345 “Kaku is CP9” reveal). Cross-link CP9, Iceberg, Ancient Weapons.
Water Seven (Ch. 345) — ⭐⭐ UNMASKS as CP9
- One of the masked agents who clashes blade-to-blade with Luffy (KLANG KLANG, pp. 7–8). A “Tempest Kick” (Rankyaku) slices a wall (p. 6) — the exact attacker is not labeled on-page; attribute cautiously (consistent with the long-/square-nosed swordsman Kaku, but unconfirmed). (The technique system Rokushiki is named on-page later @0347.)
- Unmasked second: “You’re the one in the wrong.” → “KAKU!!” — “None of this would have happened if you’d handed them over to the government when it asked nicely.” (p. 16). His covert CP9 identity — inferred since the @0325 superhuman-speed tell and confirmed-by-proximity @0343 — is now confirmed on-page.
- Cross-link CP9, Rob Lucci, Kalifa, Blueno, Iceberg, Ancient Weapons.
Water Seven (Ch. 343) — ⭐ Named on-page inside the mansion; the embedded-CP9-agent tell
- Named on-page by Tilestone, who shouts “KAKU!!!” on finding him collapsed among the wiped-out third-floor guards inside the mayor’s mansion (pp. 18–19). The dramatic irony confirms by proximity that the long-/square-nosed foreman Kaku is one of the embedded CP9 agents and that his “defeat” is cover. Cross-link CP9, Rob Lucci, Lucci Beloved Galley-La Shipwright Named Before Shown.
Water Seven (Ch. 338) — unnamed square-nosed figure in the Dock 1 assault
- Appears among the foremen as a square-/long-nosed figure during the Dock 1 assault (pp. 7–8). Not named this chapter — visual-silhouette presence consistent with Kaku. (Inference.) See CP9.
Water Seven (Ch. 328)
- As Dock 1 carpentry foreman, re-states the keel verdict in full to Luffy: the keel is irreparably damaged, the Going Merry is “just waiting to die,” and no two identical ships can ever be built (pp. 4–9). His casual, authoritative shipwright expertise (paired with his “Koo-Koo!!” verbal tic) is on full display. See Going Merry Keel Irreparable Death Sentence.
- Mistaken-identity gag: a bystander confuses the long-nosed Usopp (seen “with the Franky Family”) with Kaku, jolting him (pp. 14–15) — a quiet beat foreshadowing how little anyone yet suspects him.
Water Seven (Ch. 327)
- Assesses the Going Merry’s hull at Rocky Cape and delivers the verdict: the keel is damaged beyond repair; even Galley-La cannot fix it and it can never sail again (pp. 18–21). See Going Merry Keel Irreparable Death Sentence.
- Confirmed as one of only five master-foreman technicians per dock at Dock 1 (pp. 12–13).
Water Seven (Ch. 325)
- First on-page (p. 15) — caption “KAKU — GALLEY-LA COMPANY SHIP CARPENTER.” Stops the crew at Dock 1: “Only authorized personnel are allowed inside the factory” (p. 15).
- Reads Kokoro’s introductory letter for the crew; explains who Iceberg is — Mayor of Water Seven, President of Galley-La, manager of the Sea Train (p. 16).
- Tell: sprints across town at a blur (“DASH!”) and leaps off a “huge drop” off the city’s edge unbothered (pp. 17–19) — superhuman athleticism inconsistent with an ordinary carpenter. Departs to assess the Going Merry at Rocky Cape via the Yagara Bull, telling the crew to wait ten minutes. Cross-link Kaku Mountain Wind Superhuman Speed Carpenter Tell.
Egghead (Ch. 1116)
- Held captive/restrained by the Vegapunks; Edison won’t release him because he’d immediately go after the Straw Hats — the object of Stussy’s “inner conflict.” (p. 6)

Notes
- Etymology note : カク / Kaku — likely 角 (“square / angle / horn”), playing on his square nose. The “Mountain Wind” (山風 / yamakaze) nickname keys his superhuman speed.
