Summary
At Egghead, the running brawl in Vegapunk’s lab continues: Luffy goads CP0 into unlocking his seastone handcuffs by promising to fight fair and climb back into the cuffs afterward — “He took the bait!!” — then opens with Gear Fourth (Kong Gun) against Lucci, while Zoro (Purgatory Oni Giri) and Kaku (Tempest Kick: White Thunder, Six King Pistol) trade techniques. Lucci confirms CP0’s true orders — assassinate all seven Vegapunks — and that Stussy, having betrayed the agency, “will pay the price.” A side passage reveals the starving survivors of CP5, CP7 & CP8, who came to investigate Egghead two months ago, got driven back by “sea beast weapons,” and have been imprisoned in the lab ever since; Vegapunk, who never knew, apologizes — his hidden poneglyph research has leaked to the World Government, and a fleet of over 100 ships (Base G-9 included) is now converging on Egghead. The chapter then cuts to “War-Land Elbaf, New World,” where Shanks has reunited with old friends Dorry & Brogy and his crew (incl. Benn Beckman). A messenger relays Captain Kid’s ultimatum — fight, or surrender his Road Poneglyph and flee. Kid’s crew, beaten to a pulp by Red-Hair’s subordinate fleet once before (and minus an arm), warns him off, but Kid grins and Shanks answers: “…but only if I lose!!”

- CP0’s mission at Egghead is the assassination of all seven Vegapunks. Lucci states it outright (p. 5); the priority target order even includes Luffy (“You’re the one I mean to kill before anyone else, Straw Hat!!!”, p. 6).
- Stussy betrayed CP0 and “will pay the price” — Lucci has “something in store for Stussy” (p. 5).
- “Protect the Stella!!” (p. 6) — the original Vegapunk is referred to as “the Stella.”
- CP5, CP7 & CP8 agents came to Egghead two months ago, were driven back by “sea beast weapons,” and have been starving, imprisoned in the lab ever since (pp. 10–11). Vegapunk had no idea this was happening “right under my nose.”
- Vegapunk’s secret poneglyph research at Egghead has leaked to the World Government (p. 11), which Vegapunk says “shouldn’t have been possible.”
