Summary
The Straw Hats reach the Future Island of science, Egghead, home of the world’s greatest scientist, Vegapunk. Half the crew, dragged from the frigid sea by a colossal robot piloted by Lilith (PUNK-02, “the Evil”), are nearly sunk by Vegapunk’s bio-mechanical Sea Beast Weapons before Shaka (PUNK-01, “the Good”) overrides her and orders the crew brought in — having taken an interest in the newly-minted Emperor’s crew (Zoro’s bounty is cited at 1.111 billion). On the surface, Luffy’s group is swallowed and spat out by the island’s machines and wanders a hologram-and-automated-food wonderland run by the small inventor Atlas (PUNK-05, “Violence”). Elsewhere, Jewelry Bonney has returned to the lab she knew as a child, seeking the Vegapunk who turned her father into a mindless living weapon. The big reveal: there is only one Vegapunk, who “split himself into six different people” — six satellites (Shaka, Lilith, Edison, Pythagoras, Atlas, York), each embodying a human trait, all of them Dr. Vegapunk together. At sea, CP-0 (Lucci, Kaku, Stussy) escort a star-chested weapon back to Egghead under orders to eliminate all the Vegapunks — a mission Lucci links to “what happened in Lulusia the other day.”
New reveals
- There is only one Vegapunk; short on time, he “split himself into six different people” — six satellites, all Dr. Vegapunk together (CP0 briefing, p. 16): PUNK-01 Shaka (Good), PUNK-02 Lilith (Evil), PUNK-03 Edison (Thinker), PUNK-04 Pythagoras (Wisdom), PUNK-05 Atlas (Violence), PUNK-06 York (Greed). The original/main body is the Stella (p. 3).
- Egghead — “the land of science,” a winter island made tropical by an island A/C Atlas built; flying buildings, a giant robot, holograms, and an automated cooking machine that turns holographic food into real matter via “high-pressure gloves.”
- Vegapunk’s waters are patrolled by Sea Beast Weapons — bio-mechanical sea monsters that sink approaching ships (p. 4).
- Zoro’s bounty is stated on-page as 1.111 billion berries; Robin called “the demon child” (p. 6). Luffy’s crew is openly recognized as the crew of the man “who just got made Emperor of the Sea” (p. 5).
- Jewelry Bonney is at Egghead — she knew the lab as a child, and accuses Vegapunk of turning her father into a “pure, unthinking living weapon” / “cyborg” who has lost his humanity (p. 7).
- CP-0 (a.k.a. Cipher Pol Aegis-0 / “Masked Killers” — Lucci, Kaku, Stussy) are en route to Egghead to return a star-chested humanoid weapon and eliminate all the Vegapunks while sparing the valuable lab (p. 16-17).
- Franky reveals he spent the timeskip’s two years at Vegapunk’s lab in Baldimore, Vegapunk’s hometown (p. 2).

Open questions raised
- Which Vegapunk is the true “Stella” main body, and where is he?
- Whose father did Vegapunk turn into a mindless weapon — and what is Bonney’s full history with the lab?
- Why has the World Government ordered every Vegapunk killed, and how does it connect to Lulusia’s destruction?
- What is the winged, star-chested weapon CP0 is returning to Egghead?
- What “demands” did the Straw Hats intend to make of Vegapunk, and why did they come?
