Ch. 1105 — the Buster Call levels Egghead in earnest (present-day, Final Saga)
Saturn opens the Egghead bombardment in earnest — “Begin the bombardment,” “Fire cannons!!!,” “Destroy the central factory and future city!!” — explicitly to “set the state of scientific progress back 100 years .” The Ohara -Buster-Call logic (erase the knowledge, no survivors) is restated by the executioner himself (pp. 2-4, 8-10). Ch. 1104 pp. 14–15 — a Buster Call activated on Egghead (present-day, Final Saga)
Saturn activates a full Buster Call on Egghead — “This island has been declared a threat to the World Government!!! All warships, prepare for bombardment!!! Ch. 553 p. 12 — invoked as a measuring stick for the Summit War’s scale
As the Navy’s massed Vice Admirals draw steel at Marineford, a Whitebeard pirate jeers: “It’s not every day you get to see so many vice admirals in one place! …This makes the Buster Call look like a cakewalk!” — using the Buster Call’s island-erasing reputation to scale the war’s force concentration above it. Ch. 429 — the Buster Call FAILS; “a complete and utter defeat”
The “full military might of Enies Lobby ” — the seven-plus-warship Buster Call fleet — cannot sink “one stinking little ship” (pp. 10, 13): the gate-whirlpool ruins their aim and the Going Merry rides the current out and is launched clear by Franky ’s Coup de Vent . Aokiji ’s closing narration brands the whole incident the World Government’s “complete and utter defeat ” (pp. 18-19). First on-page instance of a Buster Call deployment being beaten. Ch. 426 — the Buster-Call fleet ARRIVES at the Bridge of Hesitation; the “elite 200”
The annihilation order described and embodied across Ch. 359 /0365/0374/0382/0386 gets a continued present-day on-page deployment : Marine command broadcasts that “nine pirates have been confirmed… all vessels take position around the Bridge of Hesitation ” and the warship fleet rings the bridge and escort ship (pp. 5-7). The order names the Straw Hats as “the same criminals… that defeated CP9 at the Tower of Law” and frames the assault as “Enies Lobby has been secure for 800 years… lawlessness cannot be left to flourish in this world” (pp. 7, 10). The fleet carries an elite 200 — junior officers hold their posts while “only captains and lieutenants will engage the enemy,” and the marines are shaken that each engaging officer is “the same rank as that guy Smoker ” (pp. 11-12). Ch. 425 — the Enies Lobby Buster Call reaches total annihilation; Robin states its meaning in full
The bombardment defined Ch. 359 reaches its endpoint on Enies Lobby: the main island, the undersea passage to the bridge, the Courthouse and the Tower of Law are all destroyed (pp. 6-8), and fleet reports state no survivors among the giants (Oimo & Kashii ), the Galley-La shipwrights, the Franky Family (Sodom, Gomorra, “Yokozuna was probably with them”), and the ~50 pirates at the main gate (pp. 5-9). Only the Bridge of Hesitation remains as “the only target left” (p. 8). Robin states the order’s meaning outright: “People can’t be seen on a map… erasing one small island from the world map. That’s what a Buster Call is!! ” — annihilation “without any emotion ” (pp. 8-9). Spandam commands the fleet to ring the bridge. Ch. 421 — the Buster Call is CARRIED OUT on Enies Lobby (the order given, fleet opens indiscriminate fire)
The present-day Buster Call is executed on Enies Lobby (pp. 2-4): the order “Carry out the Buster Call!! … Let no one escape! Raze Enies Lobby to the ground!! ” is given and the assembled fleet opens indiscriminate fire. WG forces are NOT exempted (“The indiscriminate bombing spared only me!!”); only the Tower of Law where Robin is held is temporarily spared “by private agreement with Admiral Aokiji .” ~80 targets are named, including “Straw Hat Luffy and his accomplices” and “the criminal Nico Robin.” This continues the present-day DEPLOYMENT first depicted Ch. 420 — the historical Ohara depiction @0395-0397 remains the back-reference. Ch. 420 — the Buster Call is DEPICTED on-page (present-day) for the first time
Title chapter “Buster Call.” A fleet of Marine warships beyond the island’s defensive perimeter opens its bombardment of Enies Lobby — first the perimeter, then the Tower of Law (“KABOOM!!!”, “Bombs from the warships!!”, pp. 6-9). Kokoro names it on-page: “Buster Call!! Buster Call!! ” and “it will begin soon” (p. 12). The full fleet then rises into view in a wide splash — “A FLEET OF WARSHIPS!! ” → “THE BUSTER CALL HAS STARTED!! ” (pp. 18-19). This converts the long-described annihilation order (defined Ch. 359 ; embodied as the golden Den Den Mushi prop Ch. 386 ) into a live, depicted present-day event — the first DEPICTED present-day Buster Call (the Ohara eradication @0395-0397 remains the historical back-reference). The bombardment doubles as a kill-trap: Lucci warns seawater will flood the undersea escape passage and “drown everyone” (pp. 16-17, 19). Ch. 359 (p. 12): A Buster Call is “a national war-class military force”; its target “cannot survive.”Ch. 359 (p. 12): It is “an emergency order in which five Vice Admirals from the Navy Headquarters… and ten warships assemble at the same location.”Ch. 359 (p. 13): Authority to activate it is normally restricted to “the three Admirals” and “the head of the Navy, the Fleet Admiral” (Sengoku ). Ch. 414 — p. 8 (the Buster Call fleet sets sail for Enies Lobby)
Ten naval vessels (a Buster Call-grade fleet) set sail for the judicial island, Enies Lobby (“…have set sail for the judicial island, Enies Lobby… ten naval vessels…”). At the Water Seven docks the Sea Train is full and panicked civilians can’t get a ship to follow (“Impossible! The Sea Train is full!!”; “Get away from the island!!”) — the Ch. 409 -triggered annihilation order’s fleet is now visibly en route. Ch. 412 — p. 15 (the annihilation order restated as “made” during the tower assault)
A CP9/government fighter states flatly that the Buster Call has already been made (“We don’t have time for this. The Buster Call’s been made”, p. 15) — the Ch. 409 annihilation order is in motion at Enies Lobby during the Straw Hats’ Tower-of-Law assault, raising the time pressure on the whole rescue. Ch. 410 — pp. 5-6 (the triggered Buster Call is now an active, island-wide emergency at Enies Lobby)
World Government staff and agents erupt in panic — “IT’S A BUSTER CALL!! ” / “The Navy’s gonna annihilate this place!! ” (p. 5) — with the order to “bring a ship around to the Gates of Justice ; prepare for departure ” (p. 5) and the abandoned staff fearing being “left behind” (pp. 5-6). The order TRIGGERED Ch. 409 is now an active, in-progress event on a present-day island (the Ohara depiction @0395-0397 was a flashback). Status moves from “triggered” to “in progress, registered island-wide as an emergency”; the full fleet bombardment is still not yet depicted. Ch. 409 — pp. 5–8 (the order is TRIGGERED on-page; Aokiji’s authorization consummated; Navy HQ launches)
At the Bridge of Hesitation , fleeing with the chained Robin , Spandam accidentally activates the Golden Transponder Snail , triggering the Buster Call (“I can’t believe I accidentally used the Golden Transponder Snail!!”, “I triggered the Buster Call…!!!”, pp. 5, 8). At Marine Headquarters a Silver Transponder Snail intercepts the signal (“The silver transponder snail has intercepted a signal!!!”, p. 6) and the order is formally sounded — “Admiral Aokiji has requested a Buster Call!! ” — with ten warships and five vice admirals dispatched, ~30 minutes out (p. 7). This is the first on-page present-day TRIGGERING of a Buster Call (the @0359 definition / @0386 golden-snail prop now consummated); the @0365/0386 Aokiji-routed authorization is no longer hypothetical. Ch. 365 — pp. 2–3 (Spandam confirms the secured authorization)
On the kidnap Sea Train , CP9 Director Spandam crows that “Aokiji giving us the okay for a Buster Call” has secured “five vice admirals and ten warships from Navy Headquarters ” — “enough military force to destroy the world, coming straight to me!” Re-states the @0359 force-scale (5 Vice Admirals + 10 warships) and re-confirms Aokiji as the chain-of-authority through whom CP9 borrowed the order — now framed as the firepower escorting the Enies Lobby operation. Ch. 374 — pp. 13, 18 (the lone-survivor consequence stated on-page)
Aboard the kidnap Sea Train bound for Enies Lobby , CP9 ’s exposition states that a Buster Call long ago burned “a certain island” to ash — “destroyed so that not a trace of it remained ” — and that the only survivor of that incident was the young Nico Robin (p. 18); her childhood WANTED poster is shown. Robin first warns of “the government’s Buster Call threat ” as her reason for surrendering (p. 13) — CP9 wields the threat of another Buster Call against the Straw Hats as the lever forcing her cooperation, framing it as “all for the sake of justice.” This is the operation’s lone-survivor consequence stated on-page for the first time , without yet naming the destroyed island (Ohara is forward of this batch — the first DEPICTED Buster Call is not yet shown). Ch. 382 — pp. 7-8 (Spandam names it again in the Tower of Law as his “rule whichever country” trump card)
Holding the captive Robin in the Tower of Law , Spandam (addressed on-page only as “the Director”) recaps that he “planned out the whole thing, including approval for a Buster Call ,” and equates obtaining that authorization with “the power to rule whichever country I wish is in my hands .” Robin asks why Aokiji would “give you authority for a Buster Call ” (p. 7) — reaffirming it as an extraordinary sanction that normally requires Admiral/Fleet-Admiral authority. Described, not yet shown deployed. Pre-loads the Enies Lobby Buster Call climax and the later reveal that the same instrument annihilated Ohara. Ch. 386 — pp. 2-4 (the golden Den Den Mushi: the authority embodied as a portable, one-button prop)
At the Tower of Law , Spandam is shown reclining with a golden Transponder Snail — possession of which carries the authority to summon a Buster Call . He states the scale plainly: “With this one button , an island will disappear” (p. 3), and frets that he “could’ve accidentally pressed the button!!” — “Authority itself… is a kind of weapon ” (p. 3). He reconfirms that Buster-Call authority normally requires permission “from an Admiral or higher at Navy Headquarters” (p. 2), and that he obtained his golden snail “from Aokiji for the Buster Call ” (p. 2) — restating (and now embodying as a physical prop) the @0365 Aokiji-sourced authorization. This is the first on-page depiction of the golden Den Den Mushi as the single-button island-erasing instrument of the order; the actual fleet response is still not shown (the first DEPICTED Buster Call is forward). Ch. 397 — the
first DEPICTED Buster Call shown in action (the Ohara operation)
The Ohara operation is shown in action. Warships bombard the island; Vice Admiral Sakazuki sinks the evacuation ship by cannon fire (p. 11); the library and the Tree of Knowledge burn. Confirms the @0374 “burned to ash, not a trace remained” exposition as literal depiction. Note the on-page internal Marine dissent: the former Navy member Kuzan (future Aokiji ) tries to halt the assault (“how can that be justice?!”), contrasted with Sakazuki’s “destroy evil at its roots” absolutism. Ch. 396 — the Ohara Buster Call DEPICTED in action (the operation defined @0359, now shown)
The Buster Call mechanically defined @0359 (5 Vice Admirals + 10 warships, survival impossible) is shown on-page destroying Ohara (pp. 2–3, 13–14, 17–20). A WG official names it again (“ten warships with five vice admirals in command… THE BUSTER CALL”) while offering Saul one of the five Vice-Admiral seats — which he refuses, then deserts. Ch. 395 — ⭐ the FIRST DEPICTED Buster Call: Ohara obliterated; the golden snail traced to Sengoku
The Buster Call — defined mechanically @0359, attached to Ohara by name @0391, embodied as the golden Transponder Snail @0386, its approach staged @0392 — is triggered and shown firing for the first time here. Spandine presses the golden Transponder Snail “entrusted to me by Admiral Sengoku ” and declares “the Buster Call!!” (pp. 10–11), ordering “Don’t leave a single soul alive!” The Tree of Knowledge is set ablaze (p. 12) and the fleet commences “simultaneous firing” on “all of Ohara, the island of archaeology” (p. 19). First on-page confirmation that the golden Den Den Mushi’s authority was sourced from Sengoku (then an Admiral) — back-dating the chain of command. Spandam , golden Transponder Snail in hand at the Tower of Law, tells the captive Robin that this is “the power that wiped out your homeland, Nico Robin ” and that “the name Ohara disappeared from maps the following year .” This is the first on-page naming of the specific island a Buster Call destroyed (the unnamed “certain island… burned to ash” of @0374), explicitly attaching the order to Ohara and to Robin’s origin. The flashback then opens (“TWENTY YEARS EARLIER · WEST BLUE · OHARA”, p. 14). The actual depicted fleet response remains forward of this chapter — described/back-referenced, not yet shown.
