Profile

The surface plane of Elbaf — the giants’ living world above — the middle tier of the island’s three-world cosmology (see Elbaf’s Three Worlds). Named on-page as the counterpart to The Underworld (aka “The First World”) far below; reached from the Underworld by a lift. Distinct from the Three-Worlds concept and from the Underworld — cross-linked, not merged.

Etymology

“Sun World” fits Elbaf’s Norse/solar imagery — the sunlit surface tier above the shadowed Underworld.

• Ch. 1140 — first named on-page (p.12 caption “…served up to us on a platter… The Sun World”).
• Ch. 1144 — the giants’ nation-wide alert “Message to all of the Sun World!!”
• Ch. 1151 — the demon-transformation battle unfolds here; Chopper and the wounded “Mr. Ya” (Scopper Gaban) fall from here into the Underworld (pp.11, 15).
• Ch. 1190 — captioned “THE SUN WORLD” (VIZ, p.17) — first VIZ-captioned use of the name; a black polka-dotted limb crashes down on a mountainside beside two giants as the Gaban-vs-Imu duel spills into it. (recent-chapter 1100+; official VIZ. The former “strikes Western Village” claim was a TCB-read artifact — withdrawn.)
• Ch. 1191 — captioned “OWL LIBRARY, SUN WORLD / REAR ENTRANCE TUNNEL” (VIZ, p.7) — VIZ name re-confirmed; Robin, Usopp, Chopper and Biblo at the library’s rear entrance.
