Summary
On Elbaf’s surface (the “Sun World”), the giant warriors have been twisted into rampaging demons — dark “all the way to their core” — and turn on their own, seeking to force the world’s oldest warrior Chief Jarul into retirement, “bring about the age of war,” and become “the kings of Elbaf” with “no need for the God of Elbaf.” The Holy Knight St. Killingham (dubbed “the Great One”; established Ch. 1140), directs the carnage: his Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Mythical Type, Model: Kirin (man-beast form) “flips” the giants like pieces on a game board into his “sleeptids,” gloating that Elbaf “created these monsters yourself” and that only King Harald’s “miserable failure” kept the nation from being “subjugated years ago.” Rewinding “many minutes earlier” to the Underworld, Chopper falls from the Sun World clutching the gravely wounded old giant “Mr. Ya”; Hajrudin rages at the chained Loki for killing “my father” Harald (“he was my father too!!”), while Loki takes a farewell call from his snail-friend “Shaggy,” who thanks him “for everything” and warns he’ll be unable to call for a while. As Chopper stabilizes Mr. Ya, the giants reveal the old man’s identity: he sailed with Roger and Rayleigh as one of the “Wings of the King of the Pirates,” was the crew’s third- (he insists second-) strongest, and knows Shanks — the enemy called him “Gaban.” The chapter ends as an overwhelming, unidentified Haki floods the Underworld and terrifies the demon-giants (“Whose preposterous Haki is that?!”); Luffy calls everyone back onto the lift (“Elbaph’s in danger!!”), and Loki laughs, “Looks like you’re going to need me after all!!!”
New reveals
- St. Killingham — the Holy Knight (uses the “St.” saint-title; called “the Great One” by the demon-giants; established Ch. 1140) — commands the assault on Elbaf (pp. 6, 8).
- St. Killingham’s fruit is captioned Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Mythical Type, Model: Kirin (Man-Beast Form) (p. 6).
- St. Killingham’s power “flips” giants — like discs on a Reversi/Othello board turned “entirely in our color” — into demons (“dark and twisted all the way to their core”), which he calls his “sleeptids”; he tells Elbaf “you created these monsters yourself” (pp. 3, 6, 8).
- The demon-transformed giants want to force Chief Jarul into retirement (“the warrior we once admired has grown old and feeble”), “bring about the age of war,” and become “the kings of Elbaf” — “there’s no need for the God of Elbaf anymore” (pp. 2–3).
- St. Killingham: only King Harald’s “miserable failure” kept Elbaf — “the heart of Elbaph” — from being “subjugated years ago” (p. 8). The WG/Holy Knights have long sought to conquer Elbaf.
- MAJOR: the beloved old Elbaf elder “Mr. Ya” is revealed to be Scopper Gaban of the Roger Pirates — he and Rayleigh were “the Wings of the King of the Pirates,” the crew’s third- (he insists second-) strongest, and he knows Shanks; the enemy names him “Gaban” (pp. 5, 14).
- Chopper fell from the Sun World into the Underworld carrying the gravely wounded Mr. Ya (pp. 9–11).
- Hajrudin confronts the chained Loki over killing “my father” — “he was my father too!!” — reaffirming Hajrudin is King Harald’s son / Loki’s half-brother (pp. 10–11; established Ch. 1137).
- Loki’s snail-friend “Shaggy” calls to say thank you “for everything” and that they’ll be “unable to call you for a while” — a farewell; the giants tease Loki for having a friend (pp. 12–13).
- Named Underworld/battlefield sub-locations: Nightmare Hole (p. 5), Branch Route 8 (p. 4); the surface is named the “Sun World” (pp. 11, 15).

Threads advanced
- Shanks Figarland Connection — “Mr. Ya” = Scopper Gaban, a living Roger Pirate who “knows Shanks.”
- Luffy’s Secret Underworld Encounter at Elbaf — the crew re-descends into the Underworld; Loki taunts “you’re going to need me after all.”
Open questions raised
- Whose Haki floods the Underworld at the end (p. 15) — Gaban’s, Loki’s, or a new arrival’s?
- Is “Mr. Ya”/Gaban a giant? He is drawn giant-scaled on Elbaf, yet the Roger-crew flashback (Ch. 966) showed him human-sized.
- How is St. Killingham’s demon-flip undone — via each giant’s “own personal demons” (p. 8)?
- What is a “sleeptid,” and how does the Kirin/“nightmare” motif tie the transformation to sleep/dreams?
- Where is Shaggy, and what danger are they walking into (pp. 12–13)?
- Are Dorry & Brogy among the transformed, or resisting? (pp. 7 — “Master Brogy!! Master Dorry!!… Why do you look like that?!”)
