Summary

At Elbaf’s Western Village, the Holy Knights run their cruel “game”: the giant schoolchildren — legs “moving on their own” under St. Sommers’s thorn control — sleepwalk to the edge of a branch and are dangled over the Underworld, broadcast so all of Elbaf can hear. The demand relayed to elder Chief Jarul: within thirty seconds, order the schoolteacher to light the school and library on fire — and remove not a single book first — or the first child is pushed off. The giants rage that even the world’s worst criminals don’t take children hostage, and rally to split into two groups (“one to fight the monsters, and one to save the children”) and race to Branch Route 8. Nico Robin engages Sommers directly: his powers wrap the kids in invisible thorns that impale any parent who embraces them, and he proves immortal (“he’s a zombie too!!”) — her Quatro Mano: Sneak Clutch breaks his spine but he rises again. Deducing that his thorns only reach so far, Robin leaps off the branch clutching Sommers, dropping him into the Underworld and out of range — vanishing at the last instant to leave him falling alone. But the thorns can’t be undone in time, and the countdown runs. Ronja, a schoolgirl who loves the library, decides she “should fall instead” rather than let the books burn — “the teachers taught me you mustn’t cause trouble for other people.” As the count hits one and two, Sommers orders the school torched; Jarul, weeping, gives the order (“Yes, sir…”) and the Owl Library is set ablaze — Robin openly crying. Then the tide turns: Scopper Gaban of the Roger Pirates crashes onto the battlefield, recognized in shock by Jarul (“Been a while, eh?”), slicing in as the immortal foe finds his regeneration suddenly failing — “What? It’s not coming back.”

New reveals

• The WG’s demand is a book-burning. The Holy Knights don’t just want hostages — they order Elbaf to burn its school and library and forbid removing a single book, explicitly targeting “your history… your culture.” An open attack on the giants’ recorded knowledge. (pp. 3–6)
• Sommers’s thorns are invisible + un-cuttable. His Thorn-Thorn Fruit coats the sleepwalking children with thorns nobody can see; any giant who embraces a child to save them is stabbed, and “even the knife can’t cut through this.” The bindings only release if Sommers himself is put “outside the range of my powers.” (pp. 6, 9–10)
• The Holy Knights are immortal / undead. Robin’s clutch audibly cracks Sommers’s spine, yet he stands back up — “Dammit!! He’s a zombie too!!” — implying more than one of them cannot be killed by force. (pp. 7–8)
• Robin’s counter-play. Rather than trying to beat an immortal, Robin jumps off the branch with him into the Underworld to move him out of thorn-range, then disappears (Devil-Fruit clone/relocation) at the last moment — “that conniving vixen set me up!!!” (pp. 8–10)
• Ronja’s sacrifice. The schoolgirl Ronja chooses to let herself fall so the library won’t burn: “the books tell you about places all around the world… I love the library too!! …so I think I should fall instead!!” (pp. 11–14)
• The Owl Library burns. Cornered, Jarul gives the order (“Yes, sir…”); the library — with the owl librarian Biblo atop it — is shown in flames. (pp. 13–14)
• Scopper Gaban enters the present-day fight. The Roger Pirates fighter, alive on Elbaf, crashes into the Western Village battle, recognized by Jarul; the immortal enemy’s wound “isn’t coming back,” hinting Gaban’s blade negates the undead regeneration. (p. 15)

• Is the Holy Knights’ immortality a shared trait of the order (a “mark,” a fruit, or something granted by the Holy Land), and what does Gaban’s blade do that force alone can’t?
• Does Elbaf’s Owl Library hold True-History / Void-Century records — is that why the WG wants it burned rather than merely holding it hostage?
• Did Robin actually save the children before the count ran out, or is Ronja still falling when Gaban arrives?
