Chapter 740: It's in Your Hands!!!

Summary

Inside the palace’s outer-wall tower, Luffy, Violet, and the others push toward the second-floor suit chamber while Pica keeps re-shaping the walls and stalemating Zoro one floor up. On the basement level the one-legged toy Soldier and two Tontatta warriors (Rampo and Cub) try to hold off the officer Gladius, who reveals his Pop-Pop Fruit: a “Rupture-Man,” he inflates and bursts his own body and any inorganic thing he touches, threatening to make the Soldier’s tin body “pop and vanish without a trace.” Luffy intervenes with a Jet Stamp, snatches the Soldier, and they flee toward the stairs as Gladius pops his spiked helmet after them. Elsewhere Kin’emon disguises himself as Doflamingo (“Don Quixote Doflaemon”) to bluff a palace guard. The infiltrators reach the suit chamber to find Doflamingo and Trebol interrogating a captive King Riku and Law — Doflamingo demanding to know why the Straw Hats, working with the Greenbit dwarves, have gone after the Smile Factory and Sugar, the “root of the darkness” of his kingdom. Violet recognizes her father, King Riku; the Soldier vows to rescue them, and a silhouette flashback names him Kyros. The Soldier explains his plan: when Sugar falls, every toy reverts to human, giving the resistance its opening. At the House of Toys, Franky chooses to stay and raise hell as a diversion, handing “Operation S.O.P.” to Usopp, whose Tontatta team is already swarming Sugar at the underground port — only to be turned into toys one by one as she dodges their grape.
