Chapter 775: To Russian with Love

Summary

At the SMILE Factory, the wounded Tontatta princess Mansherry is carried off by Leo while her people chide her spoiled streak — but a Donquixote scout slips away to report to “the young master” (Doflamingo): he suspects the ultimate feature of the Heal-Heal Fruit is a restorative power that sacrifices the user’s own lifespan, and orders the “little people” seized so Mansherry can restore the factory if it is ever destroyed (pp. 3–4). The main event is the climax of Franky vs. Señor Pink: both fighters, battered past their limit, agree the next exchange settles it. Pink swims up the tower for his diving finisher (Baby Buster), but Franky rises and answers with Franky Iron Boxing — which triggers Señor Pink’s flashback to the woman named Russian (pp. 12–18): a bank-employee cover hid his pirate life from the wife he loved; their son Gimlet died of a sudden fever, Russian fled into a storm and was crushed in a landslide, and now lies in a vegetative state. The only time she smiles is when Señor Pink wears their dead son’s baby clothes — the secret behind his absurd costume. Franky wins the Smile Factory battle and weeps for his fallen rival, vowing to share a drink if they ever cross paths again.
