Summary

The Ohara flashback continues under the Buster Call. As cannon fire rains on the Island of Archaeology, the World Government order is broadcast: “Obliterate all the demons of Ohara.” Amid the chaos a young Robin is reunited with her mother Olvia — confirmed on-page as her mother — who is stunned and proud to learn her daughter can already read the Poneglyph. Olvia is told to take Robin and flee on the evacuation ship, but she chooses to stay and warn her homeland of what Ohara discovered about the Ancient Kingdom, charging Robin to one day tell the island’s history and giving her iconic parting words: “Live, Robin!” Robin is then reunited with the giant Saul, whom Olvia once nursed back to health after a shipwreck; Saul resolves to protect Robin. The Marines, now led in pursuit by Vice Admiral Kuzan (Aokiji), brand Saul a deserter for taking the prisoner Olvia and fleeing — a flashback within the flashback reveals the WG offered Saul one of the five Vice-Admiral slots in the Ohara Buster Call, which he refused on principle. As warships open fire on Saul, he flees with the child Robin, vowing “There will be the devil to pay.”
