• Ch. 391 p. 9–10 (Spandam, present-day): Ohara named on-page for the first time — the Buster Call is “the power that wiped out your homeland, Nico Robin,” and “the name Ohara disappeared from maps the following year.” (The “certain island” of @0374 is now named.)

• Ch. 394 (in-batch MERGE — the purge plays out): World Government agents storm the Tree of Knowledge charging the scholars with “the grave crime of researching the Poneglyph” (p. 5) and branding them “demons who desire the destruction of the world” (p. 6); they lie to the townsfolk that the warships are “not warships” and order all unaffiliated people to evacuate west (p. 4); the WG fleet opens fire (pp. 12–13). An explosion uncovers the Poneglyph in an underground chamber beneath the Tree of Knowledge (pp. 17–18) — confirming Ohara DID decode the forbidden writings — and the Director (Spandine) confirms the scholars’ “death penalty” (p. 18). Clover denies any weapon intent and begs to report the void hypothesis to the Five Elders (p. 19). (The depicted Buster Call bombardment + the Great-Kingdom naming remain FORWARD / at the seam.)
• Ch. 395 (the flashback’s catastrophe): the Five Elders confront Clover, who states the Ancient-Kingdom hypothesis and is shot the instant before he names the kingdom; Spandine triggers the Buster Call via the golden Transponder Snail “entrusted to me by Admiral Sengoku”; the Tree of Knowledge catches fire; the fleet commences “simultaneous firing” on “all of Ohara, the island of archaeology” (pp. 9–19). Interwoven, Olvia meets Robin but denies being her mother to protect her. The on-page depiction of the genocide. (The full destruction / Robin’s escape with Saul remains forward-canon.)
• Ch. 396 (the destruction continues): cannon fire rains across the Island of Archaeology under the World Government order “Obliterate all the demons of Ohara.” The Tree of Knowledge / library is shown burning; Olvia tries to “save the books,” the research being the operation’s target. The giant Vice Admiral Saul — once nursed by Olvia — refuses one of the five Vice-Admiral commands of the Buster Call and deserts to shield the child Robin, pursued by Vice Admiral Kuzan (Aokiji). The first DEPICTED Buster Call in the series continues to play out.
• Ch. 397 (the destruction DEPICTED to its end): warships bombard the island, the library and the Tree of Knowledge burn (“it’s going to fall!”, p. 16), the evacuation ship is destroyed by Sakazuki’s cannon fire (p. 11), and the scholars die preserving their books. Ohara is named on-page as the eradication target (“this is just being used as an example… that’s why Ohara is being eliminated”, p. 10). Kuzan (Aokiji) defies the order — freezing the cannon fire and sparing the child Robin (a frozen ice-path for her raft) — making her the lone survivor of the genocide.
• Ch. 1066 (Egghead — Vegapunk’s flashback; the ruins shown to have partly survived): months after the Buster Call, Vegapunk visits Ohara’s charred ruins and finds the central-island lake of books survived the fire. “Ohara won.” Giants from Elbaf salvage the library and carry it to Elbaf, where Vegapunk secretly reads all of it. Etymology

• Surface / name origin: オハラ (Ohara) reads identically to the Irish surname “O’Hara” (also spelled オハラ in Japanese). This anchors an Ireland theme running through the island’s people: the lead scholar Clover is named for the clover / shamrock, a national symbol of Ireland. (Per the Rurubu One Piece guidebook, Ohara may also be inspired by England — the same real-world basis cited for Foosha and Syrup Village.)
• Real-world reference (the genocide): Ohara — a library-island of scholars decoding forbidden history, then erased by the World Government — layers several historical book-burnings. The Tree of Knowledge library evokes the Library of Alexandria (also lost to fire). The Marines’ execution of all the scholars echoes the Burning of books and burying of scholars under Qin Shi Huang (213–212 BCE), meant to enforce a single state philosophy — paralleling the WG’s monopoly on “Justice”/history — and the Mongol Siege of Baghdad, which destroyed the House of Wisdom.
