The golden Transponder Snail introduced @0386 as the “one button [that makes] an island disappear” (Spandam, Tower of Law) is here shown in its first depicted use: 20-years-earlier CP9 Director Spandine triggers the Ohara Buster Call “with the golden Transponder Snail entrusted to me by Admiral Sengoku” — declaring “the Buster Call!!” and “Don’t leave a single soul alive!” The Tree of Knowledge is set ablaze and the fleet commences simultaneous firing on “all of Ohara” (pp. 12, 19). The same instrument-of-authority recurs across the two CP9 Directors (Spandine @0395 → Spandam @0386), back-dating the chain of command to Sengoku and confirming the @0386 prop-tell that the golden snail’s button would matter. Ch. 386 — pp. 2-3 (the golden Transponder Snail: a single-button island-erasing prop in careless hands)

Director Spandam reclines at the Tower of Law with a golden Transponder Snail whose possession carries the authority to summon a Buster Call — “with this one button, an island will disappear” (p. 3) — then frets that he “could’ve accidentally pressed the button!!” An explicit Chekhov / prop-tell: a portable single-button annihilation weapon placed in a careless character’s hands will matter. Spandam also states the authority normally requires permission “from an Admiral or higher at Navy Headquarters” and that he got the golden snail “from Aokiji for the Buster Call” (p. 2) — re-seeding the Admiral-level connection to the Robin/Enies Lobby operation.
