A “mad rookie from a year ago,” captain of the Barto Club Pirates and a Block-B entrant in the Corrida Colosseum tournament. Named Ch. 704, shadowed Ch. 705 (p. 19); his first full on-panel appearance is @0706 (staged debut).

Final Saga — Shanks’ loyalty test at Gartel (Ch. 1126, flashback “one month earlier”)

• At Gartel in Shanks’ territory, Bartolomeo burned the Red-Hair flag and drank from their ritual cups without Luffy’s leave (pp. 5-8). Handed a “deadly poison” and ordered to make Luffy drink it, he downs it himself — “I don’t want him to waste a single precious second of his time on the likes of me… this ain’t got nothin’ to do with him! Please don’t tell him I did this!!” — and gives a farewell (pp. 7-9). The “poison” is a fake test: he’s spared, but his ship is sunk; status unknown (p. 9).
