Chapter 714: Lucy and Moocy

Summary

Two fronts run in parallel. Out in the waters near Dressrosa, the Thousand Sunny is besieged by Giolla, a Don Quixote Family officer of the Trebol Army, whose art-transformation Devil Fruit warps the ship and its defenders (Nami, Chopper, Brook) into abstract cubist art; she is under “Young Master” Doflamingo’s orders to capture Momonosuke and seize the ship, and by chapter’s end the Sunny “isn’t even a ship anymore.” Inside the Corrida Colosseum on Dressrosa, an injured masked gladiator, “Ricky,” refuses treatment and insists on leaving; Rebecca recognizes him and chokes out “Forgive me!!” as he calls her name. In the Don Quixote Family’s coliseum waiting room, Diamante and the family relay Joker’s order to Bellamy: kill “Straw Hat” before the tournament ends and earn a full-officer seat. Block C, meanwhile, is a free-for-all dominated by Hajrudin, a giant of Elbaf and “the most powerful pirate mercenary alive,” who fights for the Mera Mera no Mi to become “king of the giants.” The crowd favorite “Lucy” (Luffy) has tamed the coliseum’s killer Brutal Bull, naming it “Moocy.” Hajrudin flattens the bull and seemingly Lucy too — then Lucy rises and drops the giant with a single devastating punch.
