Chapter 1126: Settling the Score

Summary

En route to Elbaf aboard the giants’ ship, the Straw Hats feast with Oimo and Kashii, who recount how — after parting at Water Seven — they sailed to Little Garden to glimpse their captains Dorry and Brogy, found the pair still dueling bare-fisted with busted weapons, and all returned to Elbaf together for new arms (Usopp warns the crew off the hallucinogenic “Green Fairy” absinthe). A one-month-earlier flashback at Gartel Island, in Shanks’ territory, shows the Red Hair Pirates confront Bartolomeo for burning their flag: handed a “deadly poison” and ordered to make Luffy drink it, Bartolomeo instead downs it himself rather than betray his idol — revealing the test, that he is no threat to Luffy. The Red Hair Pirates spare the Barto Club but sink their ship (“every action has a price”; status unknown). At Pirate Island Fullalead, Blackbeard returns furious that Koby and Gecko Moria got away — but learns Kuzan took down and captured Garp alive, and that the crew also holds the “three-eyed girl” (unidentified on-page, theorized to be Charlotte Pudding); with the world now scrambling for poneglyphs, morale is sky-high. Intel relayed through the Umit Shipping Company (Lafitte present) shows the Revolutionary Army crashing the Bondolas to starve Mariejois, while Avalo Pizarro (island-form) hauls in Catarina Devon’s returning ship and an unidentified captive. Back at sea, two days out of Egghead, the crew wakes from a drunken stupor to find the Thousand Sunny — and Luffy — gone; Nami comes to with a hangover in a strange, oversized hall.

New reveals

• Garp is alive and a prisoner of the Blackbeard Pirates. Kuzan took him down at Fullalead — “I thought I killed him… but he ended up alive instead” — and “we caught Garp instead.” It took the whole crew together, “and we just barely managed” (pp. 12-13).

• The Blackbeard Pirates hold the “three-eyed girl” — unidentified on-page (only called “the three-eyed girl”; theorized to be Charlotte Pudding), captured for her poneglyph-reading third eye (p. 13).
• The poneglyph scramble has gone global. “The poneglyphs ain’t just the knowledge of the underworld anymore… the whole world is about to get in on the act” — the Four Emperors are about to have a full-scale scramble for the stones (p. 10). A consequence of Vegapunk’s broadcast.
• Shanks’ loyalty test. Bartolomeo burned the Red-Hair flag at Gartel; handed “deadly poison” to give Luffy, he drank it himself. Shanks spared the Barto Club but sank their ship — “every action has a price to be paid”; status unknown (pp. 5-9).
• The Revolutionary Army is starving Mariejois. Food shipments cut off, and the Bondolas at Red Port keep breaking down/crashing — the Revolutionaries are “quite serious about attacking provisions.” Intel runs through the Umit Shipping Company (pp. 14).
• The Thousand Sunny and Luffy are missing. Two days out of Egghead, still short of Elbaf, the drunk crew wakes to find the Sunny gone (pp. 16-17).
