Chapter 773: Half 'n Half

Summary

On the King’s Plateau, Cavendish’s murderous sleepwalking alter-ego Hakuba has wiped out the surrounding Donquixote soldiers (including Dellinger) in an unseen blur and turns his blade on Nico Robin. Robin pins him with her Hana Hana powers; Cavendish wrestles control of his own body back from Hakuba in a “half ‘n half” struggle. Gladius, a “full-body Rupture-Man,” then menaces Robin and Bartolomeo: detonate his body and thousands of poison quills fly, or leave him be and he pops the entire cliff wall. Bartolomeo, ever the Luffy fanatic, seals the trio inside a “Barrier Ball” so Gladius’s burst is contained while Cavendish stabs him — but the strike misses the windpipe, so Gladius keeps going. Cavendish then re-leashes Hakuba (“half-exposed”) to borrow his speed and spirits Robin away, while Bartolomeo finishes Gladius with “Homage Holy Fist: Pistol.” At Flower Hill’s 4th step, Diamante corners Rebecca (mocking one-legged Kyros over the uneven ground); Robin arrives at Hakuba-speed and shields Rebecca with Mil Fleurs: Butterfly Orchid, telling her she has “delivered the key” and her mission is complete.
