  • Kyros's origin: a violent criminal/'beast' who, after losing to King Riku's masked incognito colosseum fighter 'Ricky', was personally reformed by the king and one year later became Captain of the Dressrosan Riku Royal Army (caption: KYROS, AGE 25)
  • 'Ricky' — the mysterious meteoric coliseum fighter Kyros defeated — was secretly King Riku himself in disguise
  • Scarlet (First Princess of Dressrosa, age 16) and Viola (Second Princess, age 10) are King Riku's daughters; Viola is the present-day 'Violet'
  • Scarlet, who first despised Kyros as a murderer, falls in love with him; King Riku stages her death ('a sudden fever') and strips her royalty so she may marry the commoner ex-criminal Kyros
  • Kyros and Scarlet have a daughter, Rebecca — confirming Kyros is Rebecca's father, Scarlet her mother, King Riku her grandfather, and Violet her aunt
  • Ten years ago Doflamingo's forces seized Dressrosa and framed King Riku for burning his own town; Doflamingo demands Kyros join him and declares 'the old royal family must die'
  • Kyros severs his own leg to escape sea-prism-stone cuffs and strike Doflamingo, but is touched by Sugar — turned into a one-legged toy and erased from everyone's memory (even King Riku no longer knows his name)
  • The present-day one-legged 'Thunder Soldier' IS Kyros; Sugar's memory-erasure is why his coliseum statue stands yet no one in Dressrosa remembers him
  • Scarlet, fleeing to the promised 'Red Flower Field', is shot dead by the mind-wiped royal army; the toy Kyros cannot even feel the warmth leave her body
  • Present: Usopp's side forces a Tatababasco-laced grape on Sugar and, combined with Usopp's terrified face, makes Sugar faint — setting up the collapse of her toy-curse

Summary

A flashback delivers the full, tragic legend of Kyros. A violent criminal who chained himself inside the coliseum, he is defeated by a masked, mysterious fighter named “Ricky” — secretly King Riku himself — and reformed by the king’s mercy, rising one year later to Captain of the Dressrosan Riku Royal Army. He falls in love with the king’s eldest daughter Scarlet; King Riku fakes her death and strips her royalty so the two may marry, and they raise a daughter, Rebecca. Ten years ago Doflamingo seizes Dressrosa, frames the king, and demands Kyros’s allegiance; when Kyros cuts off his own leg to attack, Sugar turns him into a one-legged toy and erases him from all memory — explaining the forgotten coliseum legend and revealing the Thunder Soldier as Kyros. Scarlet, fleeing to their promised “Red Flower Field,” is gunned down by the mind-wiped royal army, and the toy Kyros cannot even hold her. In the present, Usopp’s allies force a Tatababasco grape on Sugar, and the sight of Usopp’s terrified face makes her faint — poised to undo her curse.
