Summary
The alliance climbs the mountain that holds the royal palace (the “King’s Plateau”). Bartolomeo uses his barrier to build a staircase up to the third step so Luffy and Law can race to the top — exhausting his deployable barrier surface in the process and staying behind with Cavendish (whose horse Farul is felled) and Robin to hold off the Donquixote toys, Robin declaring that “Luffy is the trump card that leads us to victory.” Cutting to Acacia Town, Sabo duels Admiral Fujitora, who pins the Marines in place with gravity, confirms Sabo is “the number two of the Revolutionaries,” and lays out his gambler’s creed of wagering his life on the roll. On the fourth step’s flower field, Diamante corners the fleeing Rebecca, boasts that he personally shot her mother Scarlett dead, and reaches for his gun — only for the one-legged Kyros to slash him down, shield his daughter, and tell her she never has to fight again. Luffy and Law reach the fourth step where Doflamingo is waiting, and Luffy commits to taking him on.
New reveals
- Diamante killed Scarlett. Cornering Rebecca, he confesses outright: “It was me!!! You want to know who shot your mother to death?” — naming himself as the gunman who killed Rebecca’s mother (p. 13).
- Kyros confronts Diamante face to face to protect Rebecca: “I won’t let you take my family…” — Diamante recognizes him by name, “KYROS!!!” (p. 14). Kyros is hailed as the greatest gladiator ever to fight the coliseum; Rebecca calls him “Father” to his face (p. 15).
- Sabo is confirmed on-page as the Revolutionary Army’s number two — by an enemy Admiral: Fujitora says, “Guess ya ain’t the number two of the Revolutionaries for nothin’!!” (p. 9).
- Bari Bari no Mi lore: Bartolomeo’s barrier has a finite total surface — building the staircase used “all of it,” leaving him temporarily unable to deploy (pp. 5–6).
- The alliance reaches the fourth step; Doflamingo is waiting, and Luffy answers “Of course!!!” to taking him on (p. 17).

Open questions raised
- What is Fujitora actually plotting — what is the “wager” the blind Admiral has placed on Dressrosa?
- Will Diamante’s confession break Rebecca’s refusal to kill, or does Kyros settle the score himself?
- Now that the alliance has reached Doflamingo, who fights whom — and what was the key Luffy is shackled for?
