Summary
In the smoking ruins of Dressrosa, Doflamingo lies beaten amid the rubble (the landed aftermath of Luffy’s finishing blow) while Luffy stands panting in his Gear Fourth “Boundman” form. Across the island the strings stop and the Birdcage begins to vanish — citizens and gladiators who had been straining to hold the shrinking cage give one last heave as it (and the falling SMILE factory) come down, and the sky clears. At the Corrida Colosseum the exhausted announcer Gatz, barely able to speak, narrates that “what you see vanishing is not just the Birdcage… it’s the end of Doflamingo’s rule,” recapping the war for Dressrosa — “the warriors of fate” versus the two-thousand-strong Donquixote Family, “Lucy the Gladiator vs. Don Quixote Doflamingo.” Cutting between Doflamingo’s old proclamation (“I am Don Quixote Doflamingo, the rightful ruler of this kingdom!!”) and a flashback of Luffy’s promise to Rebecca (“I won’t let the toy soldier die!! Rebecca, don’t cry yet!!”), Gatz finally bellows the winner — ”…LUCY!!!!” The whole island erupts: “WE DID IT!!!” Closing narration honors the toy soldier and the ten-year resistance that fought “to restore the honor of the deposed King Riku” and “to take back our freedom,” as the people of Dressrosa “rejoiced and wept amid the rubble” — “when a kingdom falls into ruin, it is not always a tragic event.” A Volume-79 SBS Question Corner page (Dr. Hiriluk’s birthday / Oda’s birthday-calendar policy) follows the chapter.
New reveals
- Doflamingo is defeated. The chapter opens on his beaten body in the rubble (the resolved aftermath of the finishing blow) and confirms the outcome through the island’s reaction rather than a fresh blow (pp. 2–3, 12).
- The Birdcage is sustained by Doflamingo — the instant he goes down, “the strings… are gone!!” and “the Birdcage is gone!!” (pp. 7, 10). Its vanishing is the island-wide signal that the fight is over.
- Gatz formally declares “Lucy” (Luffy) the winner of the final bout (p. 14), ending Doflamingo’s ten-year rule over Dressrosa.
- The native Dressrosa resistance succeeds: the citizens, gladiators and former toys take back their freedom, completing the ten-year effort to restore the deposed King Riku’s honor (pp. 16–17).

- Pages 8–9 — The citizens and gladiators give one last heave on the cage (“Just one more heave…”) as the falling SMILE factory comes down.

Open questions raised
- Doflamingo is beaten — will he be captured/killed, and how does the wider world (Fujitora, the Marines, the World Government) respond to a Warlord’s fall?
- Now that the Birdcage is down, what is the cost to Luffy of the Gear Fourth he is still holding?
- With Doflamingo’s SMILE supply line broken, how will Kaido react?
