Arc: Dressrosa · Saga: Dressrosa · Released: 2014-12-22 (VIZ on-page title reads “CABBAGE & LOMEO” — Bartolomeo’s nicknames in the comedy double-act: “Cabbage” = Cavendish, “Lomeo” = BartoLOMEO.)

Summary

The assault on the New Royal Plateau continues across its tiered “steps.” On the Fourth Step’s flower hill, Pica’s awakened stone terrain ripples underfoot as he duels one-legged Kyros — gleefully realizing this is the toy soldier who screamed during the kingdom’s enslavement, Rebecca’s father and Scarlet’s widower. Kyros refuses to let Rebecca fight, vowing to protect her now that he is human again, and shatters Pica’s steel cloak. On the second step Sai’s Happo Navy has dropped Lao G (Baby 5 cheerfully “reserves two locations — wedding and funeral”), while Gladius blankets the steps with exploding ground (“Pop Rock Fest”). Bartolomeo and Cavendish bicker through a barrier-sharing comedy routine as they climb to protect Nico Robin; Robin slips past Gladius with a wink that sends a fanboying Bartolomeo into a frenzy. A long-armed gladiator fights to buy time “while Straw Hat beats Doflamingo,” only for Dellinger — boasting his Fighting Fish blood — to bite him down. As Dellinger and Gladius converge on the third step, a “really freaky guy” with a wild grin appears on the other side of Bartolomeo’s barrier: Cavendish’s sleeping alter-ego, Hakuba.
