Firsts
  • The one-legged toy soldier (the dwarves' 'Captain') IS Kyros, the legendary Corrida Coliseum gladiator whose statue stands in the arena
  • Kyros was the FIRST person in Dressrosa turned into a toy — by Sugar, ten years ago
  • Sugar's toy-transformation normally puts victims under a 'contract' as helpless laborers AND erases them from everyone's memory; she forgot the contract on Kyros (her one and only mistake), so he kept his will and has fought the Donquixote Family for ten years
  • Scarlett is Rebecca's (deceased) mother; the toy soldier failed to save her and Diamante knows how she died
  • The dwarves are the Tontatta tribe; their plan is 'Operation S.O.P.'

Summary

In the underground trading port beneath the officer’s tower, the Tontatta dwarves discover that Trebol’s sticky “stick-stick” substance is flammable and blow his tower to pieces, freeing themselves to rescue their captured comrades and reach the palace. A terrified Usopp (“Usoland”) and Nico Robin are swept up in their assault. In a flashback, the one-legged toy soldier (whom the dwarves call “the Captain”) begs Rebecca not to enter the Coliseum tournament — calling the legend of the gladiator Kyros “a complete lie,” a despair dressed as hope — and she lashes back that he is “just a one-legged toy” who can never beat Doflamingo. In the present arena, Diamante batters Rebecca with his edge-less flexible blade while taunting her about her mother Scarlett’s death, until Bartolomeo intervenes. On the palace plateau the toy soldier fights Lao G (the dwarves swarming to help), with Pica’s rumblings shaking the city. Finally Leo reveals the Captain’s truth to Usopp: he was the FIRST person turned into a toy by Sugar ten years ago, but Sugar forgot to bind him with the memory-erasing “contract” — so alone among the toys he kept his will and has resisted the Donquixote Family ever since. His forgotten name, once known to all of Dressrosa: Kyros — the greatest gladiator in Coliseum history.
