Summary
The Corrida Colosseum tournament for the Mera Mera no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit) continues. The “mad rookie” Bartolomeo the Man-Eating (captain of the Barto Club Pirates, bounty 150 million) is jeered by the stands; he openly disdains the crowd and seems to relish their hatred. The announcer hypes “the polar opposite of Bartolomeo” — Bellamy the Hyena, a former pirate captain who once brought Doflamingo “a pillar of gold from a far-off land,” earning the title “the Bullet of Dressrosa,” and is now being given a “second chance” through the tournament. Behind the coliseum, Bellamy recognizes Luffy (fighting under the alias “Lucy”) as the man who derailed his career back in Jaya. Bellamy reveals he later visited the Sky Island himself and found it real — admitting “I ain’t gonna laugh at ya anymore” — but insists he is no longer the same man: Doflamingo has been his hero since childhood, and he needs to win to earn an officer’s berth on Doflamingo’s ship “before the huge wave comin’.” The rosters of Blocks C, D, and B are paraded (Cavendish, Rebecca, Chin Jao, Sai, Boo, Hajrudin, Ideo, Orlumbus, Suleiman, Elizabello II, Blue Gilly, Hack, and more). The opening bell rings for Block B’s 138-fighter battle royale; Dagama, Elizabello II’s tactician, immediately marshals the weak fighters into an army to take down the strong ones first.
New reveals
- Bellamy the Hyena returns as a Block B competitor — former captain of the Bellamy Pirates, devil fruit captioned “Spring-Spring Fruit” (= Bane Bane no Mi), bounty now 195,000,000 berries (was 55M at Mock Town).
- Bellamy went to the Sky Island after the Jaya events and confirms it was real — the dream he once mocked. Chapter title and his line “I ain’t gonna laugh at ya anymore” invert his Mock Town “do not dream” creed.
- Bellamy once delivered Doflamingo “an enormous pillar of gold from a far-off land” (the Skypiea gold), becoming “the Bullet of Dressrosa”; he since fell from favor and the tournament is his “second chance” to regain officer status in the Doflamingo Family.
- Bartolomeo makes his first full on-panel appearance (named in Ch. 704, shadowed in Ch. 705): “the Man-Eating,” captain of the Barto Club Pirates, bounty 150,000,000; No. 1 on the “pirates we just want to disappear” list; despised by the crowd, which he despises back.
- Block C (139 fighters) notable roster: Jean Ango, Kelly Funk, Boo, Sai, Lucy (Luffy), Hajrudin, Ideo, Bobby Funk, Chin Jao, plus a Fighting Bull.
- Block D (138 fighters) notable roster: Meadows, Cavendish, Mummy, Orlumbus, Rolling Logan, Rebecca, Suleiman, Acilia, Damask, plus a Fighting Lion.
- Block B (138 fighters) notable roster: Tank Lepanto, Abdullah, Elizabello II, Bartolomeo, Blue Gilly, Dagama, Hack, Bellamy, Ricky, Jeet. Block B’s battle royale opens.
- Dagama, tactician for Fighting King Elizabello II, openly organizes the weak fighters into a coordinated “army unit” to eliminate the dangerous competitors first — “only the last survivor can win! Results are everything!!”

Open questions raised
- Why is Doflamingo “like a hero” to Bellamy, and what is the “huge wave comin’” he must survive?
- What exactly was the “second chance” Doflamingo offered Bellamy, and why did he lose his officer standing?
- Who is the masked Block B gladiator “Ricky”?
- What is Bartolomeo’s real agenda — does he actually want to win, or is the heel persona a front?
