Soul never ages!!! — the Straw Hats as a 70s soul band

Soul never ages!!!

What’s shown

Full-colour double-page spread (pp. 1–2), captioned “Soul never ages!!!” The crew is drawn as a 1970s soul/funk band under rainbow-and-star psychedelia.

Brook is the centrepiece — a giant skull in purple shades and a black turtleneck, working a chrome microphone. Around him: Nami in headphones and tinted glasses; Usopp belting into a mic under a bush hat; Zoro swigging a bottle; Chopper with a green afro and a tambourine; Robin in an orange shawl and blue shades; a blue-afro’d Franky in a black jacket over a polka-dot shirt. ⚑ The bone-white skeletal hand gripping the chrome mic at the right edge of p.1 is Brook’s own — segmented finger bones, sleeved in his black turtleneck; it is NOT a Franky robot hand.

The red-afro’d singer in the paisley shirt on p.1 is Luffy (uncaptioned, but the under-the-left-eye scar is drawn beneath the right lens of his red-and-yellow shades); the green-afro’d, blue-grey, triangular-shark-toothed figure in yellow spiral shades behind Franky’s pointing arm on p.2 is Jinbe; the maroon-suited guitarist in the white ruffled shirt (p.2, top left) is almost certainly Sanji — suit, hair falling over one eye, and the last crewmate unaccounted for once the other nine are placed. A backing chorus of cats, chicks and a green crocodile take their own microphones.

What it might mean

Hedged. The spread is Brook-centric — his skull dominates two-thirds of the composition — and it lands while the Elbaf arc is running Brook’s Esperia / Princess Shuri backstory (opened Ch. 1183). “Soul never ages” is a triple pun on soul music, Brook’s Revive-Revive soul, and the 70-plus years of an un-ageing skeleton. Read conservatively: a spotlight signal on Brook’s thread rather than a costume/setting prophecy.

Payoff (when confirmed)

Notes

Patch-routed corrections from the original page applied: all ten crewmates listed; the p.1 mic hand is Brook’s skeletal hand.

• ⛔ Colour-spread credit ONLY — this spread drives no scalar on any character note (first_* untouched; last_appearance/last_mentioned not advanced from art). Luffy’s genuine @1191 advance comes from the story pages, not here.
