Chapter 1079: The Emperor's Crew, the Red-Haired Pirates

Summary

The chapter opens “hours earlier” on Egghead, revealing York as the mastermind of the lab massacre: with the frontier dome sealed, she ordered the Seraphim to kill everyone on the island except herself, the Stella, and the people underground, scheming to emerge as the sole Vegapunk — and instructed S-Snake to pretend to beat her so no one suspects her (retroactively staging her own petrification from Ch. 1075). In the present she rages that the World Government decided to erase her too, not just the Stella. Egghead is evacuated under Pacifista fire. The scene then cuts to “War-Land Elbaf, New World,” where Shanks is hosted by the giants Dorry & Brogy alongside a rabble of his weak-but-famous affiliate crews (Pururu the Brr-rave of the Bourbous Pirates, bandleader Fugar the Adventurer, Frog-Toes Ribbitini of the Puddle Pirates). Eustass Kid — three-billion bounty, fresh from Wano — attacks to seize Shanks’ Road Poneglyph, vowing to wipe them out “with my damned Punk.” Kid’s Observation Haki flashes a vision of “an ugly future”; on Shanks’ order the giants assume positions, and Dorry & Brogy obliterate the Kid Pirates’ fleet with “Divine Departure” and “Hakoku Sovereignty.” Killer is crushed shielding Kid; the broken Kid Pirates surrender all their Road Poneglyphs and beg Red-Hair for their lives. The chapter closes with the narration: at Elbaf, the three-billion-bounty pirate Eustass “Captain” Kid and his crew — destroyed.

• York is the Egghead traitor. Hours before the massacre she ordered the Seraphim to “kill everyone… except for me, the Stella, and the people underground” so she alone survives as Vegapunk (pp. 2–3).
• York staged her own petrification. She tells S-Snake: “I want you to pretend to beat me while they’re watching” — explaining the Ch. 1075 Love-Love Mellow petrification as a cover (p. 3).
• The WG turned on York too. “The World Government isn’t just erasing the Stella. They decided to erase me too!!” — her deal to be the lone Vegapunk has backfired (p. 2).
• Eustass Kid and the Kid Pirates are destroyed at Elbaf by the Red Hair Pirates + the giants Dorry & Brogy (pp. 8–15).
• The Kid Pirates hand over all their Road Poneglyphs to Shanks to avoid death — “These are our Road Poneglyphs!! All of them!! …We surrender, Red-Hair!!” (p. 13). Red Hair now holds Kid’s rubbings.
