The prediction: like Rayleigh at Sabaody, Gaban is the arc’s Roger-legacy conduit — he will pass the Straw Hats load-bearing Void-Century truth and/or a step on the Road-Poneglyph/Laugh-Tale trail (Elbaf being a plausible Road-Poneglyph site and the Owl Library holding Ohara’s rescued books). The claim’s own success criterion is a knowledge handoff — “load-bearing Void-Century truth and/or a step on the An arrival is not a hand-over; no Void-Century or Road-Poneglyph content passes to the Straw Hats here.

Confidence drops modestly because the “purely martial” refuter has been quietly accumulating across the whole 1158–1189 window: Gaban’s on-page function has been combat and Holy-Knight tactical lore, not Roger-era history. His covenant-tier and “Supreme-King-Haki is their weakness” explanations (Ch. 1169, Ch. 1170) are (a) Elbaf/Holy-Knight mechanics, not Void Century, and (b) delivered to Shanks in flashback, not to the Straw Hats. Ch. 1180 uses him purely as a power gauge (“Even at God Valley, I never felt Haki like this”); Ch. 1172 places him on a tactical map.
