Firsts
  • **The *Mr. Prince* alias debuts on-page** (pp. 3-5, 16, 19). Sanji, via Mr. 3's commandeered Snail-o-phone, calls Crocodile back and **self-styles as *Mr. Prince*** — *"...Mr. Prince."* / Crocodile: *"Me? I'm..."* (p. 3). **First on-page utterance of the *Mr. Prince* alias** — the seed planted by the Ch. 0168 *Just call me Prince Charming!* self-naming (Foreshadowing/Sanji Prince Charming Self-Naming) now operationalizes as a **deception-tier codename** for a fake Baroque-Works officer-agent. Cashes the Ch. 0168 self-naming from comic register into combat-deception register. The alias is sustained throughout the chapter (Crocodile: *"Where are you right now, Mr. Prince?"* p. 4; cage-mates *"PRINCE! SAVE US!!!"* p. 4; *"He called himself...Mr. PRINCE!!"* p. 16; Sanji to Vivi, p. 19: *"So, show me the way... princess."*).
  • **Sanji repeats the Ch. 0126-0127 Snail-o-phone deception against Crocodile — directly** (pp. 2-6). Sanji answers Crocodile's call as *Restaurant Le Crap?!* (p. 2) — Crocodile: *"Stop fooling around, you idiot. Hello, this is Restaurant Le Crap."* / *"I'm glad to hear that."* / *"Then you remember."* The Ch. 0126 *Restaurant Le Crap* throwaway-gag answer is now **recognized by Crocodile as Sanji's prior deception-signature**. Crocodile articulates the operational-intelligence problem on-page (p. 2): *"I thought I had all the Straw Hat Pirates in that cage!! Are there more?!"* The Strawhat-roster-incomplete realization breaks Crocodile's containment doctrine.
  • **Crocodile reverses the social-stigma read of trust** (pp. 4-5). Sanji refuses to disclose his location: *"I can't tell you that. If I did, you'd come and kill me."* Crocodile: *"Well, whether you can kill me or not is debatable, but I'm not fool enough...to give out information for free — unlike you, Mr. Zero."* — **first on-page Crocodile-as-direct-conversation-partner-with-Sanji beat** at the boss-vs-deception-operative tier. The chapter inverts the Ch. 170 *trust is the most overrated thing* doctrine — here Crocodile is the one being deceived by a no-trust transaction.
  • **Cage-tier *PRINCE! SAVE US!!!* register** (pp. 4-5). Vivi/Usopp/Luffy/Igaram in the cage scream into Sanji's Snail-o-phone behind Crocodile's back: *"We've been captured!! There's not much time!!!"* / *"PRINCE! SAVE US!!!"* Crocodile silences the cage-mates with a blast (*BLAM!!! UGH!!! THUD..!!*, p. 5) and yells *"Tell me. Where are you?"* / Sanji feigns shock *"No... Sanji?!"* — the impersonation-grammar is fully deployed. Note: Sanji uses *the name Sanji* as cover for *Mr. Prince*'s register — the alias-and-real-name swap is on-page bait.
  • **Crocodile *go to the front gate to investigate as a hooded civilian* anti-suspicion doctrine** (p. 6). After being decoyed, Crocodile dons a hooded cloak and explains: *"I'll arouse no suspicion if I show up as Crocodile... to investigate a commotion in front of my own casino. I'm not going there as the boss. Only the numbered agents know our faces."* **First on-page Crocodile-disguise visual + first on-page articulation of Baroque-Works compartment-security at the boss-tier** (only Officer Agents have face-knowledge of the boss; the *Millions* / lower tiers do not). Robin: *"The Millions still don't know what you look like. Are you sure?"* Pays-off / extends the Ch. 0107 *Mystery* doctrine to the citizen-tier.
  • **Chopper is being used as bait to draw Crocodile out of Rain Dinners** (pp. 7-9, 17-19). The *commotion* turns out to be Chopper in Heavy Point, smashing things at the casino entrance to provoke a chase (p. 7). Crocodile orders the front-gate investigation (p. 6); Chopper successfully draws Crocodile out of the casino on a **wild goose chase** (pp. 17-19, *"Chopper's leading Crocodile on a wild goose chase."*) — **first on-page Strawhat-coordinated-decoy-and-extract bait-tactic.** *All according to plan.* (p. 19) — the plan is **engineered to evacuate Crocodile from Rain Dinners** so the trapped Strawhats can be rescued.
  • **Crocodile is hailed as a civilian-folk-hero by the Rainbase crowd** (pp. 12-13). Crowd erupts: *"S-Sir Crocodile!!"* / *"It IS him!! In person!! Our hero!"* / *"He rarely shows his face in the casino!!"* / *"They really love you."* Crocodile responds: *"This is the king that wouldn't do anything when pirates attacked our towns... I was always afraid it would come to this."* — **first on-page operational deployment of the Ch. 0155 *Guardian Deity of Alabasta* cover-act at the citizen-mob register** (Foreshadowing/Crocodile Guardian Deity Of Alabasta Cover Title — pays off). Crocodile uses the live-cover to articulate the **anti-Cobra blame-doctrine**: *"This is the king that wouldn't do anything..."* — the citizen-tier framing of King Cobra as the absentee monarch is now on-page.
  • **The rebellion has begun — Nanohana attack** (pp. 12, 17-18). Rainbase citizens: *"The final clash between the king and the rebels is finally coming. The city is in an uproar!!"* / *"H-have you heard what happened at Nanohana?!"* — the first on-page report of the **Nanohana attack as the rebellion's kickoff event** (forward-canon: forward-canon Mr. 2 Bon Clay impersonates King Cobra and attacks Nanohana to ignite the rebellion). Sanji to Vivi (p. 19): *"We have to hurry. The rebellion's begun."* — **first on-page in-arc statement that *Operation Utopia* has gone live-fire** at the rebellion-trigger tier.
  • Baroque Works Sea-Stone-Bars Anti-DF Containment Doctrine
  • **Crocodile breaks the cage-room glass with a sand-tornado / quake attack** (pp. 7-10, 14-15). After Sanji refuses to disclose location and ends the call, Crocodile attacks the cage room with a sand-tornado / sand-tendril blast (pp. 7-10, *FWRR!! / KSHHHH!!! / KA-BLOO SH!!!*). *"What do you think you're doing?!"* (Vivi). The attack shatters the glass separating the cage from the Bananagator aquarium (p. 15) — **the timer starts**: *"The glass broke!! The water's rushing in!!! This room will be underwater in less than 20 minutes!!!"* The Bananagators (pp. 13-14, *DOOM!!! GRAAARR!! KRUNCH AAAAH!!!*) are released from the aquarium and now patrol the flooded room.
  • **Vivi escapes the cage area to find help** (pp. 7-9, 15). Vivi was the only one outside the cage when the attack came; she ducks Crocodile's sand-strike and flees: *"There's still time before the water floods this room. I'm going to find help!!"* / *"That's right. And Chopper's out there too. Maybe there's still hope."* (p. 8). Yells to the cage-mates from a window: *"You guys!! Is Vivi all right?!"* — Sanji from the cage: *"I'll come back with help!!! I won't abandon you!!! Hang on just a little longer!!!"* (p. 15). **First on-page Vivi-as-extraction-agent-for-the-Strawhats inversion** — the princess-needs-rescue dynamic flips.
  • **Crocodile severs the Rainbase bridge with a sand-blast to trap the rebels and citizenry inside the city** (pp. 17-18). After Chopper's bait-extraction, Crocodile chases — *"Don't think that you can get away from me!"* / *"...and lives!! No one makes a fool of me..."* — and unleashes *FWOOM!!!* / *THOOM!!* — **a massive sand-attack collapses the bridge connecting Rainbase to the outside** (p. 18, *RRMMMB / KWOOSH!*, *"The bridge collapsed!!!"*). Citizens trapped (*"We're trapped here!!"*). **First on-page Crocodile-tier *attack-collapses-civilian-infrastructure-mid-civilian-crowd* anti-pursuit beat** — first hint that Crocodile's *Guardian Deity* mask cracks the moment a target eludes him. Robin's narration off-panel (p. 19): *"Now Baroque Works can't get in either. Maybe we can't get out, but..."* — the bridge-severance also locks out reinforcements.

Summary

Cover splash (p. 1): a Robin-centered onsen / bathhouse one-shot — Nico Robin reclining among snow monkeys and yeti tending to her with sake (NOT a continuation of the Django serial).

In-story: picks up immediately after Ch. 0173. Sanji, inside Rain Dinners holding Mr. 3’s commandeered Snail-o-phone, calls Crocodile back as Restaurant Le Crap (p. 2). Crocodile recognizes the prior-deception-signature: “Stop fooling around, you idiot. … Hello, this is Restaurant Le Crap.” / “I’m glad to hear that.” / “Then you remember.” Crocodile articulates the operational problem aloud: “I thought I had all the Straw Hat Pirates in that cage!! Are there more?!” (p. 2). Sanji introduces himself with a new alias — …Mr. Prince (p. 3) — the first on-page utterance of the Sanji-Mr. Prince codename. Crocodile, narrowed: ”…!” / “Where are you right now, Mr. Prince?”. Sanji refuses: “I can’t tell you that. If I did, you’d come and kill me.”“Well, whether you can kill me or not is debatable, but I’m not fool enough… to give out information for free — unlike you, Mr. Zero.” (pp. 4-5).

In the cage, Vivi holds the Snail-o-phone for the captives (Luffy, Usopp, Igaram); they yell into it: “We’ve been captured!!! There’s not much time!!!” / “PRINCE! SAVE US!!!” (p. 4). Crocodile blasts the cage-mates back with a sand-strike (BLAM!!! UGH!!! THUD..!!, p. 5) and demands: “Tell me. Where are you?” Sanji feigns shock — “No… Sanji?!” — playing both alias and real-name simultaneously. Crocodile articulates the death-clock (p. 11): “Soon the water will cover the Bananagators’ feeding area and flood this room. If you care about your friends so much, you should die here with them. If you don’t mind a corpse!! Ha ha!!! I’ll even bring that smart aleck Mr. Prince here too…” Sanji ends the call (BEEP BEEP, p. 6).

Robin: “The Millions still don’t know what you look like. Are you sure?” Crocodile dons a hooded cloak: “I’ll arouse no suspicion if I show up as Crocodile… to investigate a commotion in front of my own casino. I’m not going there as the boss. Only the numbered agents know our faces.” (p. 6) — first on-page Crocodile-disguise + first on-page boss-tier compartment-security articulation (only Officer Agents know the boss’s face).

Crocodile attacks the cage room with a sand-tornado/quake (pp. 7-10, FWRR!! / CHOOMP!! / KSHHHH!!!) that shatters the glass separating the cage area from the Bananagator aquarium. Vivi was the only one outside the cage and escapes through a window (“There’s still time before the water floods this room. I’m going to find help!!” / “And Chopper’s out there too. Maybe there’s still hope.” p. 8). The cage-mates watch the Bananagators (a herd of them — DOOM!!! GRAAARR!! KRUNCH AAAAH!!!) breach the glass (pp. 13-14) and flood the cage area: “The glass broke!! The water’s rushing in!!! This room will be underwater in less than 20 minutes!!!” (p. 15). Vivi yells to them from a window: “You guys!!! Is Vivi all right?!” Sanji: “I’ll come back with help!!! I won’t abandon you!!! Hang on just a little longer!!!” (p. 15).

Cut to Rainbase city (pp. 12-19): a hooded Crocodile walks through the city; citizens recognize his face — “S-Sir Crocodile!!” / “It IS him!! In person!! Our hero!” / “He rarely shows his face in the casino!!” / “They really love you.” (pp. 12-13). First on-page operational deployment of the Guardian Deity of Alabasta cover at the citizen-mob register. Civic gossip: “The final clash between the king and the rebels is finally coming. The city is in an uproar!!” / “H-have you heard what happened at Nanohana?!”the Nanohana rebellion-trigger is now on-page reported. Crocodile, masked-villain register: “This is the king that wouldn’t do anything when pirates attacked our towns… I was always afraid it would come to this.” (p. 12).

Tony Tony Chopper in Heavy Point at the Rain Dinners entrance smashes things to provoke Crocodile (p. 7); the commotion is bait. Crocodile spots him: “That must be him!!” / “GROOOOO…” / “You little peon… Don’t think that you can get away from me!” — Chopper sprints (HUFF… HUFF…, p. 17). Crocodile, in cloak-and-hood, unleashes the chase: “…and lives!! No one makes a fool of me…”FWOOM!!! — followed by THOOM!!! on the bridge (p. 18). Crowd: “An earthquake?!” / “But why?!” / “RRMMM MMB… KWOOSH…” / “Oh, no!! The bridge collapsed!!!”. Citizens (and Crocodile) trapped on Rainbase island (p. 18): “What’s going on?!” / “Isn’t there a boat?!” / “We’re trapped here!!”

Robin, in the dining hall on her own, narrates the design (p. 19): “Now Baroque Works can’t get in either. Maybe we can’t get out, but…”. Sanji, smoking, from the doorway: “We have to hurry. The rebellion’s begun. Chopper’s leading Crocodile on a wild goose chase.” Robin (in a Snail-o-phone-headset frame): “All according to plan.” Vivi runs across the rooftop (KLAK!! KLAK!!) yelling for Sanji (“SANJI!!!”); Sanji, full-page close-up (p. 19), cigarette mid-smile: “So, show me the way… princess.” (chapter-closing cliffhanger).
