Summary
The rains have come and the war is ending, but the rebels in Alubarna will not yet stand down — “You can’t just erase everything that happened!! This nightmare isn’t over just yet!! We saw the king destroy Nanohana with our own eyes!!” (p. 2). Chaka lands among them and orders both the soldiers of the king and the rebels to throw down their weapons (p. 3), and then — to the crowd’s astonishment — Igaram arrives alive in his Igarappoi disguise (“COMMANDER!!” / “LORD IGARAM!!”, p. 4), paying off his apparent death at Whisky Peak. The boy from Nanohana confirms the soldiers who attacked the town were impostors — “It wasn’t the king’s men who hurt me! … Even the king was an impostor!! It was all a trick!!” (p. 5) — and Koza, the rebel leader, kneels before the people promising to explain everything; weapons begin to clatter to the ground (pp. 6-7). Vivi runs through the palace searching for the Straw Hats and finds them in the rubble-strewn street, with the unconscious, poisoned Luffy carried on Sanji’s back; Cobra the King reunites with them and reveals the boy who saved him (pp. 8-12). The crew, exhausted, refuses to enter the palace and be drawn into politics (“We can’t get mixed up in politics” / “We’re notorious pirates, remember?”, p. 11), setting up Vivi’s impossible choice between her friends and her kingdom. Meanwhile Smoker, watching from the streets, reports to Marine HQ that Crocodile was behind everything; HQ — under direct World Government authorization — strips Crocodile of his Seven Warlords rank, authority, and license forever, citing the recovered Baroque Works rainmaking ship loaded with Dance Powder (pp. 12-14). Smoker lets the matter (and the Straw Hats) lie. The chapter closes on Alabasta’s people roaring “LONG LIVE ALABASTA!!” (p. 18) as the devastating civil war finally comes to an end, and on a grinning Luffy: “It was nothing.” (p. 20).
