• For deceased (held): TWO corroborating beats — the Ch. 0179 on-page mummification (SWUMP…!! + Crocodile’s “You might’ve lived longer if not for your foolish compassion.”) AND the Ch. 0196 crew-tier mourning (Sanji: “that old mole… was dead!”). First on-page Suna-Suna kill of a named character; structurally load-bearing (his faith-digger doctrine is vindicated by his death-at-the-villain’s-hand).
• For alive: ONE read of an unnamed turbaned shovel-bearing elder at Yuba in Ch. 0212; ID rests entirely on shovel-prop + Yuba setting + Koza-father framing dialogue. Verdict: keep status: deceased. The conservative rule holds — do not regress two corroborated, synthesized death-facts on a single unnamed-figure read. The most probable text-level reconciliation, pending pixels: the Ch. 0212 figure is either a different surviving Yuba elder, or Koza addressing his late father’s memory/grave at the restored well (the “See, Koza? …The rain returned” line reads naturally as a to-the-departed address). The rain-return payoff is independently confirmed either way. 0179 pp. 6-7 and Ch. 0212 pp. 8-11 should render the final verdict; needs-weave-pass removed because the weave has now adjudicated to the extent text allows.

Alabasta — referenced (Ch. 196) — death confirmed to the crew

• Death registered by the crew (Ch. 196 p. 14) — Sanji weeps reporting “that old mole… was dead!” The Ch. 0179 Crocodile-mummification kill is now confirmed and grieved at the Strawhat-crew tier. Cross-link Sanji, Vivi.

Alabasta — Yuba (Ch. 180) — Alabasta Animal Land — full-page storm-defiance rage-shout (YOU’LL NEVER DEFEAT YUBA); Yuba buried in BOOM wide-shot

• Full-page storm-defiance rage-shout (Ch. 180 p. 10). Toh-Toh into the howling sandstorm: “YOU’LL NEVER DEFEAT YUBA!!” / “DO YOUR WORST, YOU BLASTED SANDSTORM!!” The Ch. 165 I’ll dig for as long as it takes faith-doctrine extends to active storm-defiance. The chapter cuts away with a BOOM… and a wide-shot of Yuba buried in dust — the city-founder’s defiance is on-page at the moment Yuba reaches its lowest visible state.
• Pre-load — the storm is artificial — Toh-Toh’s defiance is on-page ironically loaded: the sandstorm is Crocodile-engineered. Toh-Toh is right to defy it; his stubbornness is forward-canon vindication of his Ch. 164 the king would never betray his people doctrine — the storm isn’t the king’s doing, it’s the warlord’s.

Alabasta — Yuba death (Ch. 179) — killed on-page by Crocodile; faith-digger doctrine structurally vindicated posthumously

• LOAD-BEARING — proves the aquifer-intact thesis (Ch. 179 pp. 5-6). Shows Luffy the water-filled dig-pit he extracted overnight — “See… look at all of it!! Luffy? Didn’t I tell you… This is a strong land. Water!! It’s filling the hole!!! Yuba is still alive!!!” The Ch. 0165 damp-sand-discovery cashes as full water-pit on-page — the structural proof that the underground aquifer is intact is on-page-visualized. Alabasta — Sand-impersonated by Crocodile (Ch. 173)

• Crocodile mocks Toh-Toh by sand-impersonating him (pp. 9-10): forms a sand-double of Toh-Toh that says “Yuba will never surrender to the sands.” (likely a misappropriated line — or one Crocodile heard via Baroque-Works surveillance). The drought Toh-Toh has been digging against is here revealed to be Crocodile’s weather-attack. Toh-Toh’s stubborn dig-the-oasis ethic is now structurally anti-Crocodile resistance, not just nostalgia.

• Reappears at the Katorea rebel council (Ch. 171 pp. 5-9). Last seen in Ch. 163 / Ch. 164 founding Yuba. Now at the rebel HQ at Katorea, evidently aligned with the rebel-side civilians though pleading for restraint.
• Pleads with son Koza to trust the king (Ch. 171 pp. 6, 8). “Trust in the king, Koza.” / “You know that His Majesty is a good man!” / “We must wait for the rain to fall naturally!!” / “Dance powder would only bring more misfortune.” First father-son disagreement on-page.
• Confirms the rebel army has acquired dance powder (Ch. 171 p. 8). “And whether you caused the drought or not, you do have the dance powder!!” — first on-page acknowledgment that the rebel-side has its own dance powder cache. • LOAD-BEARING — articulates the I’ll dig for as long as it takes faith-digger doctrine (Ch. 165 p. 5). Digging in the dry riverbed under a beating sun: ‘Sure, there’s water.
