Profile

A legendary Corrida Coliseum gladiator known in-window only through his statue and its placard. Per Rebecca: the greatest gladiator ever to fight there — 3,000 battles, never once defeated, only ever struck a single blow, “still fighting here just twenty years ago.” Yet no living person in Dressrosa remembers him or has ever met him, and no one will remove his statue — “the most mysterious statue in all of Dressrosa.”

Dressrosa — the toy soldier’s war ends (Ch. 791)

• Honored in the closing narration: “da captain has fought for ten long years… even a toy must protect that which is dear to it… we fight to restore the honor of the deposed King Riku” (pp. 16–17). His decade-long resistance ends in Doflamingo’s defeat. See Thunder Soldier.

Dressrosa — leads the healed gladiators (Ch. 787)

• “Commander Kyros” leads the healed gladiators to break the Donquixote loyalist remnant; the citizens hail him (“You’ve saved us, Sir Kyros!!”) as he drives everyone to climb the central plateau, the cage’s center (pp. 14–15).

Dressrosa — after defeating Diamante (Ch. 777)

• Has defeated Diamante (the original undefeated Hero of the Coliseum felling the Donquixote officer); wounded, he recovers in the flower field, thanks Nico Robin for protecting Rebecca, and stands with Viola at Scarlet’s grave: “I will always be at your side” (pp. 4–6, 10).
• Refuses to rest while enemies stand (“As long as there is an enemy standing, the battle is not over”); defends King Riku as his father-in-law and savior who gave him a future (p. 10).

Dressrosa — Kyros vs. Diamante, the flower field (Ch. 776)

• One-legged, knocks aside Diamante’s entire “Death Enjambre” spiked-ball rain — “can he walk through rain without getting wet?!” (pp. 9–10).
• Forbids Rebecca to swing her sword: her pristine hands carry the soul of her mother Scarlet; “this is my fight” (pp. 13–14).
• Voices the toy-transformation despair from inside — forgotten by loved ones, unable to feel warmth or touch (p. 15); declares himself “this country’s solid rage” (p. 16).

Dressrosa — the plateau duel (Ch. 774) — addressed as “soldier”

• The Soldier in the plateau duel; allies vow to guard Rebecca behind him while a laughing opponent taunts about “a handicap” (p.2). Addressed only as “soldier” — the name “Kyros” is not printed this chapter (Soldier=Kyros established Ch. 739).

Dressrosa — Flower Hill’s 4th step, vs Diamante (Ch. 773)

• Dueling Diamante on Flower Hill’s 4th step (Diamante mocks his single leg on the uneven terrain); shouts for Rebecca to run because she “cannot handle” Diamante (p. 18).

Dressrosa — Fourth Step vs Pica (Ch. 772)

• Faces Pica on the rippling Fourth Step; refuses to let Rebecca fight, insisting “I owe you that much… the fact that I taught you how to fight… has been a source of regret to me” (p. 4).
• Vows to protect Rebecca “this time… to make up for Scarlet!!!” and that he will “never let you swing a sword again!! Now that I am human once more…” (pp. 4–5).
• Lands a “DOOM!!” blow shattering Pica’s steel cloak (p. 5).

Dressrosa — holds the Fourth Step against Diamante (Ch. 758)

• Stays behind at the Fourth Step / flower field to face Diamante so Luffy’s group can press on (p.2).

Dressrosa — protects Rebecca from Diamante (Ch. 757)

• In his one-legged human form, intercepts Diamante before he can shoot Rebecca — “I won’t let you take my family…” — and slashes him down; Diamante names him, “KYROS!!!” (pp. 13–14).
• Hailed as “a legendary man, the greatest gladiator to ever fight in the coliseum”; Rebecca calls him “Father” to his face (p. 15).
• Apologizes to her — “even knowing that you were kindhearted by nature… all I could teach you was battle!! …I am sorry, Rebecca” — and tells her “You don’t need to fight anymore” (pp. 15–16).

Dressrosa — the “soldier” climbs with Team Luffy (Ch. 756)

Dressrosa — the climb; his grudge (Ch. 754)

• In the ascending group; stakes his claim on Doflamingo: “Returning the kingdom to King Riku is my sworn duty!! …my grudge started ten years ago… I must bring an end to the tragedy of ten years ago!!” (pp. 9–11). See The Forgotten Legend of Kyros.

Dressrosa — rejoining Luffy on the plateau (Ch. 753)

• The Thunder Soldier form catches up to Luffy’s group aboard Cavendish’s horse Farul (“I followed your trail, Luffyland!!”) and offers to cut the wall and open a path to the third step (pp. 12–13).
• Declares his single goal: “among the family’s supreme officers… is one man I must destroy with my own hands… no matter the situation, I have only one goal!!” (p. 13) — restating his vendetta. Dressrosa — first step of the plateau (Ch. 752)

• “Kyros arrives on the 1st step” (p. 8) of the plateau climb, scattering Doflamingo’s soldiers.

Dressrosa (Ch. 750)

• “Team Kyros” is one of the four flash points, pursued by Donquixote forces through Fujitora’s blockade (“Just come quietly, Kyros!! Don’t make us fight you!!!”, p. 5).

Dressrosa — on the manhunt board; confirmed Rebecca’s father (Ch. 746)

• Captioned on Doflamingo’s manhunt board as “Former Capt. of Dressrosa’s Army” (¥100M / one star) — “The Invincible Gladiator!!!”
• Confirmed (via Luffy → Rebecca) to BE the one-legged toy soldier, now reverted to human, and Rebecca’s father. Flashback (p. 16) shows his devotion and his regret over the flame-flame fruit he could not win her.

Dressrosa — beheads Doflamingo’s double; “Brother Kyros” (Ch. 745)

• Now in his reverted one-legged human form, confronts Doflamingo at the palace and beheads him with a single slash (“Want me to show you how to behead a man?”, pp. 5–6) — though the body proves to be a string marionette (the real Doflamingo is untouched). • Viola addresses him as “Brother Kyros,” marking him as family of the Riku royal line (p. 5).

Dressrosa — strikes down Doflamingo at the palace (Ch. 744) — name not given on-page here

• The one-legged former Thunder Soldier (Kyros) lands a powerful blow on Doflamingo at the palace — “look what he did to the Young Master!!… how can this be?! he’s only got one leg!!” (pp. 15–16); Doflamingo survives (“Mingo’s still alive!!”, p. 19).

Dressrosa — the Thunder Soldier reverts to Kyros (Ch. 743) — present-day reversion; legend payoff

• When Sugar is knocked out, the one-legged Thunder Soldier reverts to the man KYROS on-page in the present day (pp. 12–16). Robin/the crowd identify him: former commander of the Riku Royal Army, “the greatest warrior in the history of the coliseum” — the man the un-removable statue depicts. PAYS OFF The Forgotten Legend of Kyros (already confirmed Ch. 739; this is the physical reversion).
• Kyros is Rebecca’s true father (p. 13). For ten years, forgotten and unable to tell anyone who he was, he stayed at her side as her “toy soldier” protector “to ensure she was not lost and alone.”
• Reunites with and frees King Riku — “King Riku!! It is me, Kyros!! …I’ve come to save you!!!!” + “SL’ICE!!” (pp. 15–16).

Dressrosa — the legend of Kyros, in full (Ch. 742)

• Origin shown. A violent criminal “beast” who caged himself in the coliseum for nine years; after losing to the masked incognito fighter “Ricky” — revealed to be King Riku himself — the king reforms him: “you can find meaning in using your strength to protect the lives of others.” One year later he is Captain of the Dressrosan Riku Royal Army (caption “KYROS, AGE 25,” pp. 2–3).
• Marries into the Riku line. Falls in love with First Princess Scarlet (who first reviled him as a murderer); King Riku fakes her death by “fever” and strips her royalty so the commoner ex-criminal may marry her. Their daughter is Rebecca — “Rebecca. I’ve named her” / “I am ever at your side!!” (p. 7, the chapter title). Confirms ON-PAGE: Kyros is Rebecca’s father, Scarlet her mother, King Riku her grandfather, Viola her aunt.
• The coup → toy. Ten years ago Doflamingo’s pirates seize Dressrosa, frame King Riku, and cuff Kyros in sea-prism stone, demanding he join (“the old royal family must die!!!”). Kyros severs his own leg (p. 10) to attack — Sugar touches him, turning him into a one-legged toy and erasing him from all memory (“My body is now a toy,” p. 11; even King Riku: “the name is unfamiliar”).
• = the Thunder Soldier. Confirms the present-day one-legged Thunder Soldier is Kyros — the answer to the forgotten coliseum statue: “no one knows my name” (p. 11). Pays off The Forgotten Legend of Kyros.
• Watches, unable to act, as the memory-wiped royal army shoots Scarlet dead at the Red Flower Field: “these tin arms of mine… cannot even feel the warmth leave your dying body” (p. 13).

Dressrosa — the Kyros origin flashback (Ch. 741) — first human-form appearance

• Shown in human form for the first time (pp. 14–20). A 15-year-old “boy from the slums,” captioned “KYROS (AGE 15)” (p. 15) — the most infamous thug in the land, who killed a gang because “they killed my friend” (p. 16).
• Thrown into the Corrida Colosseum as a violent prisoner (beat his cellmates half to death, refused food six days). King Riku took an interest in him — “Come with me, Kyros!!!” (p. 15).
• Met the Coliseum’s conditional-release rule (win 100 battles) in 4 months, then 200, 300, and his 1,000th victory in his fourth year, fighting giants and fish-men. Rejected the crowd (“people only love beasts when they’re in cages”), grieved at his friend’s grave, and wished “everyone would forget all about me!!!” (pp. 19–20) — dramatic irony for his eventual erasure. • Framed as the memory of the one-legged toy soldier, who in the palace Suit Chamber seeks a sword “to use if I get turned back into a human” (p. 14) — reinforcing Kyros = the toy soldier on-page.

Dressrosa — defends the basement; named in flashback; Operation S.O.P. (Ch. 740)

• Active as the one-legged toy Soldier: defends the palace basement against Gladius with Tontatta warriors Rampo and Cub, then is rescued by Luffy (pp. 4–11).
• Named on-page in a silhouette flashback — “So your name is Kyros!” — tying the toy Soldier to the legendary gladiator (p. 16).
• Vows to rescue King Riku and Law; lays out “Operation S.O.P.” — when Sugar is beaten, all toys (himself included) revert to human, the resistance’s chance to topple Doflamingo (pp. 16–17). Known to him as a fellow resistance fighter: “Lady Viola” (Violet).

Dressrosa — the Captain revealed (Ch. 739)

• The one-legged toy soldier (“the Captain”) is revealed to be Kyros, “da gweatest gladiator in da history of da Coliseum” (p. 19) — paying off The Forgotten Legend of Kyros: “No one remembers him, but once, everyone knew his name!!”
• He was the first person in Dressrosa turned into a toy, by Sugar, ten years ago; Sugar forgot to bind him with the memory-erasing “contract” (her one and only mistake), so he alone kept his will and has fought the Donquixote Family ever since (p. 18).
• In flashback he begs Rebecca not to enter the tournament, calling his own statue/legend “a complete lie” (pp. 10–11); she retorts he is “just a one-legged toy.”
• Present day: rushes the palace plateau and fights Lao G, the Tontatta dwarves swarming to aid him (p. 16).
• Linked to Scarlett (Rebecca’s mother): “I couldn’t save…” while Diamante mocks him for “wailing and crying” over her death (p. 15).

Dressrosa — the soldier’s conviction (Ch. 796)

• Reveals he himself started the noble-prince rumor. To protect Rebecca’s future, he spread the story that her father was a prince from a “land of beautiful lakes” who died at war — “before it could be revealed that I am her father” — given his criminal record and low birth; only some Riku royals and ex-Donquixote members know the truth (pp. 8–13).
• Chose distance over reunion: “I sent her a letter… detailing the truth of my life,” refusing to “have her future ruined over a temporary fit of emotion”; King Riku understood and agreed. • Hosts the recovering Straw Hats at his house; greeted by Leo and the Tontatta as the escape is organized (pp. 11–17).

Dressrosa — chosen over royalty; father and daughter reunite (Ch. 797)

• Packs to leave Dressrosa forever so Rebecca can live as royalty; kneels at Scarlet’s home/grave — “Forgive me for falsifying the nature of our marriage. My role has ended, Scarlett” — revealing he had falsified the nature of his marriage to Scarlett for Rebecca’s sake (pp. 13–14).
