Chapter 774: Leo, Captain of the Tontatta Warriors

Summary

Across the Dressrosa palace plateau the resistance pushes upward: at the “Palace Plateau, 3rd Step” Nico Robin is pursued by an enraged Donquixote officer (“Damn you, Nico Robin!!! This is an EXECUTION!!”), while dwarves haul off a defeated enemy as “the loser’s corpse,” and a plateau duel rages where the Soldier (Kyros) and a goggled fighter vow to guard Rebecca (p.2-3). The chapter’s spine, however, is the rescue race inside the SMILE Factory: Lady Viola relays to Leo that Giolla has caught Princess Mansherry and is forcing her to use her powers — and Leo, with Cub, climbs the outer wall at “express speed” (p.4-5). Giolla, holding Mansherry in the palace punishment room, reveals the plan: use the princess’s healing to revive the defeated Family officers (she has already revived Sugar) for a limitless army (p.6-7). Mansherry, now knowing “da twuth” that Doflamingo lied, refuses to heal “bad people”; Giolla realizes the girl’s tears carry the cure and tortures her to make her cry, healing one officer as proof (p.8-11). As Giolla begins “round two” to revive every fallen officer, Leo bursts in — “Beetle Uppercut!!” then “Haute Couture: Patchwork!!!”, sewing Giolla and her revived officers together and downing her just before she can revive anyone else (p.12-15). Leo catches the falling Mansherry (“Did you gain weight again, Princess?”); the Tontatta princess is saved (p.15). • Tears as the healing vector. Giolla deduces Mansherry’s crying is what heals, so she inflicts pain to keep the princess weeping (p.9-11).
