Profile

A mountain on Luffy’s home island in the East Blue (a path behind Windmill Village / Foosha Village), home to the Dadan Family bandits. First shown in the childhood flashback (Ch. 582, pp. 16-19), where Garp leaves young Luffy with the bandits to be raised alongside Ace. (Goa Kingdom / Gray Terminal context is forward — Ch. 583+.)

Etymology

The canonical Japanese name is コルボ山 (Korubo-yama). VIZ romanizes it “Mt. Corvo”, and corvo is Italian/Portuguese for “crow / raven” — a resonant motif for a mountain-bandit hideout. However, the in-canon romanization printed on a box label (Ch. 615) is “Colubo”, and Funimation subs render it “Colvo,” so the “crow” reading rests entirely on VIZ’s chosen spelling and is not author-confirmed. • Ch. 582 — first appearance. Garp entrusts young Luffy to the Dadan Family mountain bandits here, to be raised alongside Ace.
• Ch. 583 — the Dadan Family bandit base; young Luffy survives the lethal surrounding forest (wolves, a giant fish, a tiger, gorges and rope bridges) and crosses it over ~3 months to reach Gray Terminal, which lies north beyond the mountain.
• Ch. 585 — the mountain whose “harsh conditions” made Ace, Sabo, and Luffy grow strong (p. 3); the Dadan Family raise the three boys here, and the ASL sworn-brother sake-cup ceremony is sealed on the mountain.
• Ch. 586 — named on-page (p. 14, “MT. CORVO”) as the glow of the burning Gray Terminal is seen from the towns below; the Dadan Family bandits’ base on the night of the fire.
