Chief Warden of Impel Down — the prison’s top authority. First mentioned Ch. 526 (p. 6): “That idiot warden, Chief Magellan, is in his office on Level 4.” First shown on-page Ch. 528 (full-body reveal + data box, p. 6). His office sits on the Crimson Floor / Level 4 (“very hot down there”). Ate the Venom-Venom Fruit — his whole body is poison. Subordinates: Under Warden Hannyabal, Vice Head Jailer Domino.

Egghead — broadcast reaction cameo (Ch. 1114) — shown (cameo)

• Listens to Vegapunk’s worldwide broadcast amid prisoner panic; Impel Down has already scrambled over the recent ~1-meter sea rise (“what if seawater floods down into Impel Down?!”, pp. 3-4). See Vegapunk Final Message and Sinking World.

Post-War (Ch. 581)

• Near death after the Impel Down breakout — “beaten terribly,” under intensive medical treatment, and so upset by the failure he “might even take his own life” if he could move (pp.14-15).

Impel Down — confronts the imposter Bon Clay (Ch. 548)

• Poison-bodied and weakened, discovers the Gates of Justice opening against his will; rushes to the 1st-floor control room and confronts the disguised Bon Clay (“Who ordered you to open the Gates of Justice?! …W-Warden?!”, pp. 11-13).
• After the gate closes and the prisoners escape, grants Bon Clay his last words (“Any last words?!”, p. 19) — Bon left alive on-page. The breakout is named “the worst disgrace in the prison’s history” (p. 19).

Impel Down — main entrance: “Judgment of Hell” / “Giant Stamp” (Ch. 547)

• Reaches the sea-level main entrance and unleashes his forbidden technique — “Judgment of Hell” (Venom Demon) and a giant poison “Giant Stamp” fist — forbidden inside the prison because it could destroy Impel Down itself (the poison dissolves everything it touches, even wax and stone, pp. 3, 5).
• Luffy holds the rear: a Gear Third giant fist plus Mr. 3’s “Extra Large Candle Wall” push back the poison fist, but the venom dissolves even the wax (pp. 14-16).
• The escapees are blasted off the sea-gate into the Calm Belt by Emporio Ivankov’s “Hell Wink” and carried off by Jinbei’s whale sharks before he can reach them — Magellan: “Bring them to me.”

Impel Down — Level 1 “Crimson Hell”: poison Hydra countered by wax (Ch. 546)

• Attacks the Level 1 escapees with a giant poison “Hydra” (pp. 2, 4-5); his venom is negated by Mr. 3’s iron-hard wax (“No poison can penetrate it!”), and a wax-gloved Luffy lands a “Gum-Gum Champion Rifle” on him (“Now I can touch him!!”, p. 5).
• Frames the matchup himself: “You never know which power will work against another!” (p. 2). Earlier ordered the surrounding Marine fleet to set sail (p. 9), pulling the warships off the prison.

Impel Down — pursues the breakout to Level 1 (Ch. 545)

• “The messenger from hell.” Relentlessly pursues the breakout up from Level 4 in his black, dripping venom-demon form, deploying Hydra (p. 17) and Venom Road (p. 13); his poison melts prisoners on contact (pp. 6, 11) and breaks through Inazuma’s severed staircases (pp. 3-17).
• His poison is specifically countered this chapter: Emporio Ivankov’s makeup-armor (“You’re not melting?!”, p. 11) and Mr. 3’s Candle Wall (p. 19) are deployed to neutralize/block it as Luffy’s group reaches Level 1 and escapes.

Impel Down — Hydra vs the Blackbeard Pirates (Ch. 544)

• Confronts the invading Blackbeard Pirates and unleashes the Hydra poison of his Venom-Venom Fruit (p. 17), declaring the breakout will not set “one foot… outside of this prison.”
• Praises Vice-Warden Hannyabal for holding the line, then tells the poison-burned deputy “you better not die” (pp. 18-19).

Impel Down — reaches the Level 4 elevator hunting the rebellion’s leaders (Ch. 543)

• Arrives at the Level 4 great elevator demanding “Where are the leaders of this rebellion?!” as his subordinates report the escapees have reached the stairway up to Level 3 (p. 12).

Impel Down — directs the defense against three crises (Ch. 542)

• Reports he has suppressed the Level 2 riot with poison and sealed that floor’s exits (p. 8): “I’ve dealt with those rioting fools on Level 2. I’ve sealed off all the exits from that floor.”
• States the prison cannot request Navy reinforcements — all forces are committed to the Whitebeard war — and must handle the breakouts itself (p. 9).

Impel Down — referenced (Ch. 538) — referenced, not shown

• Referenced as Warden during the Level-4 recapture — a guard greets him (“Warden Magellan! Good morning, sir!”, p. 17) — and framed against the former Head Jailer Shiryu of the Rain, whose “dual force” with Magellan gave Impel Down its reputation, though Magellan is “relatively” inexperienced by comparison (pp. 11-12). His poison (from Level 4) is what Emporio Ivankov’s Emporio Healing Hormone has just cured Luffy of. Cross-link Shiryu.

Impel Down — poison overdose aftermath (Ch. 537)

Impel Down — poison-defeats Luffy; 24-hour death sentence (Ch. 535)

• Defeats Luffy in single combat despite taking Gear-Second blows (Jet Pistol, Twin Jet Pistol): coats himself and the air in lethal poison and deploys Hydra, Poison Blowfish (point-blank poison burst) and Poison Spider Cloud (a poison fog that destroys an opponent’s hearing, sight and touch) until Luffy’s senses fail and his body is drenched in venom (pp. 4-11).

Impel Down (Ch. 531) — “The Hydra”; poison-executes prisoners; permits Hancock to see Ace

• Descends to the deep cell-floor and unleashes “The Hydra” (p. 11) — a many-headed poison serpent of his Venom-Venom Fruit — to poison-execute the harassing cell-block prisoners, asserting he holds “authority to execute all of you, right here and now” (p. 12).
