Chapter 547: Island Ripper
This chapter's foreshadowing ledger — what it plants, what it pays off, and what debuts here. Locked seeds pay off beyond your ⚓ progress; tap one to reveal it anyway.
- Firsts
- Magellan's poison technique 'Judgment of Hell' (Venom Demon) is a FORBIDDEN technique inside Impel Down because it could destroy the prison itself; the poison spreads and dissolves everything it touches — even wax and stone (pp. 3, 5).
- The cloaked bladed figure carving up the Marine fleet is named on-page: 'Daz, the assassin of the West Blue!' — re-confirms Mr. 1 = Daz Bones, fighting with 'the power of the Dice-Dice Fruit' (his whole body is made of knives) (pp. 7-8).
- Jimbei (Jinbei) soaks the Marines' cannon gunpowder with a wave of seawater, neutralizing the warships ('Oh no! The gunpowder is soaked!!') (p. 9).
- Emporio Ivankov and Inazuma are both alive — they blast through to the main entrance with Ivankov's 'Hell Wink' (pp. 11-12).
- Jimbei coordinates the escape through a mini (baby) transponder snail: he secured a ship but is too far to reach the prisoners, so he orders everyone to JUMP INTO THE CALM BELT sea (pp. 12-13).
- Luffy publicly trusts Jimbei over Crocodile's warning that 'that Fish-Face is a government toady': 'He's Ace's friend. I trust him.' (p. 13).
- Ivankov's 'Hell Wink' blasts the entire escapee group off the sea-gate into the ocean (pp. 16-17).
- Jimbei summons a school of WHALE SHARKS to surface beneath the group and carry them to safety across the Calm Belt — a Fish-Man's command over the sea ('Jimbei must've summoned them!!') (pp. 17-19).

Summary
The mass breakout from Impel Down reaches its climax at the sea-level main entrance. Chief Warden Magellan unleashes his forbidden poison — “Venom Demon: Judgment of Hell” — a flood that dissolves wax and stone alike and could level the prison itself, so Mr. 3 (Galdino) raises wax walls and Luffy fights at the rear. At the docks, Buggy and the freed prisoners panic, waiting for a ship; out at sea, Mr. 1 (Daz Bones, “the assassin of the West Blue”) shreds the Marine warships body-of-blades with the Dice-Dice Fruit, while Jimbei soaks the Marines’ cannon gunpowder with a wave of seawater. Ivankov and Inazuma — both still alive — punch through to the entrance with “Hell Wink.” Jimbei reaches Luffy via a mini transponder snail: he got a ship but is too far away, so everyone must jump into the sea — even though this is the Calm Belt, crawling with Neptunian sea monsters. Crocodile and the others distrust the “government toady,” but Luffy declares, “He’s Ace’s friend. I trust him.” As Magellan’s “Giant Stamp” poison fist bears down, Luffy’s Gear Third and Mr. 3’s “Extra Large Candle Wall” buy a moment, then Ivankov blasts the whole group off the gate with “Hell Wink.” They crash down onto something in the water — a school of whale sharks Jimbei has summoned, which carry them away across the Calm Belt. “He’s incredible!!”
New reveals
- Magellan’s island-leveling poison — “Judgment of Hell” is forbidden inside Impel Down because it could destroy the prison; it spreads, attacks, and dissolves “even wax and stone” (pp. 3, 5).
- Mr. 1 = “Daz, the assassin of the West Blue” — the bladed figure wrecking the Marine fleet is named on-page; “that’s the power of the Dice-Dice Fruit” (pp. 7-8). Confirms Mr. 1 / Supa Supa no Mi.
- Jimbei neutralizes the warships — a seawater wave soaks the Marines’ gunpowder so the cannons can’t fire (p. 9).
- Ivankov and Inazuma survived — they arrive at the main entrance via “Hell Wink” (“IVA AND INAZUMA ARE BOTH ALIVE!!”) (pp. 11-12).
- Mini transponder snail relay — Jimbei coordinates the sea-escape through a baby Den Den Mushi; he has a ship but is too far, so he orders everyone into the water (pp. 12-13).
- Luffy’s declaration of trust in Jimbei — “He’s Ace’s friend. I trust him,” over Crocodile’s warning (p. 13).
- Whale-shark rescue — Jimbei summons a school of whale sharks to carry the escapees across the Calm Belt (pp. 17-19).

Decorative recurring color-art theme; samurai motif noted (years before Wano). Not a cover-story serial — no side-comic this chapter.

Open questions raised
- Will the whale sharks carry the escapees safely across the Calm Belt, past the Neptunians, to Jimbei’s ship — and on toward Marineford?
- Did anyone take Magellan’s poison in the final blast?
- Why was Magellan willing to risk his island-leveling technique inside the prison?
