Impel Down — holds the line; collapses poison-burned (Ch. 544)

Impel Down — fanatical last stand; cut down by the Blackbeard Pirates (Ch. 543)

• Makes a fanatical stand against the escapees: opens a gate onto a thousand “prison bazooka troops” in the stairway to Level 3 (p. 8) and fights Luffy with the spinning-glaive “Inferno Hell Wheel” / “Hannya Carnival.”
• Lectures that Impel Down is a “warehouse for scum” so decent people “could sleep at night” (pp. 14-15) — his justice creed.

Impel Down — acting authority in the monitor room (Ch. 541)

• In the monitor room as acting authority (Warden Magellan is away on a separate mission); orders “ALL GUARDS TO LEVEL 4!!” when the five escapees breach upward (p. 4).

Impel Down — Level 4 cameo during the manhunt (Ch. 538)

• Appears at Level 4 amid the search for the vanished Luffy (“U-under Warden Hannyabal?! What are you doing here?!”, p. 16); heading to the Warden’s office to report “Straw Hat Luffy has disappeared!”

Impel Down — outsmarted at a gate (Ch. 537)

• The demon-faced Vice Warden is tricked by a disguised escapee (posing as a beautiful woman) into opening a gate in the Level 4 torture-instrument storeroom (pp. 3-4). Reflects: “I’ll make him pay for this! … I’m glad this will reflect badly on the warden, but I hate being outsmarted!!” — restating his ambition to replace Magellan as warden (“I just want to be the warden.”). Impel Down — blamed for the breakout (Ch. 535)

• Disciplined by Magellan for letting Mr. 2’s prisoners beat the guards and escape toward the upper floors — “How did all these guards get beaten… when you were here with them?!” Hannyabal confesses, “I let my guard down… we were attacked by a freak who knew karate.” (pp. 16-17).

Impel Down (Ch. 531) — announces Hancock’s visit; covets the seat

• Announces Hancock’s visit to the deep cell-floor as the Under Warden (p. 6).

Impel Down (Ch. 528) — briefs Hancock; covets the seat
