Summary

The mass breakout from Impel Down reaches the surface. In Level 1 (Crimson Hell), Mr. 3’s iron-hard wax wall blocks Magellan’s poison Hydra, and Mr. 3 reveals his power — “I’m a wax man! I ate the Wax-Wax fruit!” Luffy stays behind to hold off Magellan: Mr. 3 encases Luffy’s fists in giant wax gloves so Luffy can punch the poison-bodied warden safely (“Gum-Gum Champion Rifle”). At the main entrance, the escaping prisoners blast open the sea gate with cannons mounted on wax — only to find the Marine fleet gone, recalled to sea on Magellan’s order, with no warship to steal and the Calm Belt’s giant Neptunians all around. Jimbei (Jinbei), Warlord and captain of the Fish-Man Pirates, hauls a colossal prison door out to sea as a raft and ferries the group toward the distant battleships, dodging cannon fire at incredible speed and unleashing Fish-Man Jiu-Jitsu (“Water Heart”) and Fish-Man Karate (“Ocean Current Shoulder Throw,” “Spear Wave”). Crocodile rides the resulting waterspout onto a Marine deck. The escapees reach the warships — but in the melee they wreck the ship they were trying to commandeer (“Oops, sorry. I forgot that we were going to use that ship!”).
