Summary

The Thriller Bark epilogue closes. Brook records the Rumbar Pirates’ last great song into a Tone Dial — the song he sang alone for fifty years across the misty sea — so that it can one day reach Laboon, the friend his crew left at the Twin Cape; with his shadow restored and the curse over the Florian Triangle lifted, he declares himself glad to have lived and asks to join Luffy’s crew. Luffy says “Sure thing!!” and Brook becomes the Straw Hats’ musician, revealing his wanted poster (“Dead Bones Brook,” “Humming Swordsman,” 33,000,000 berries) and his history as a former kingdom’s raid-convoy leader who later captained the Rumbar Pirates. Two days later, Franky and Usopp build a memorial to the dead Rumbar Pirates on Thriller Bark — fittingly, the island itself drifted here from the crew’s West Blue homeland. As the crew sets sail again for Fish-Man Island and Zoro shakes off his post-Thriller Bark bandages, Captain Lola of the Rolling Pirates sees them off, gifting Nami her mother’s Vivre Card and explaining the Life Paper mechanic. Recognizing the same kind of paper, Nami remembers the slip Ace once gave Luffy — and when they check it, the Ace card is scorched and shrinking, its owner’s life “on the verge of being snuffed out.”
