- Name meaning
- **蛇首族 Jakubi-zoku** = literally 'Snake-Neck Tribe' (蛇 ja/hebi 'snake' + 首 kubi 'neck/head'; VIZ 'Snakeneck'). The name is descriptive: the tribe's defining trait is an extremely long, serpentine neck. The One Piece Wiki proposes it is based on the **Rokurokubi** (ろくろ首), a long-necked Japanese yokai — fitting the same yokai-naming logic as the Longarm (手長族) and Longleg (足長族) tribes, which derive from the Tenaga/Ashinaga legendary beings. Only mentioned on the Sabaody auction price list here (0501); the tribe is not shown on-page until the Whole Cake Island arc (~ch 827, Charlotte Family snakeneck hybrids).
