Summary
On Fluffy Island, the substitute wedding cake Sanji baked (with Pudding, Chiffon, and the WCI 31 chefs) is fed to the rampaging Big Mom, whose hunger-pang craving-illness has been tearing across Totto Land. The cake works: Big Mom declares it “real wedding cake,” her hunger pangs abate, and she sinks into a euphoric trance — the “Bad End Musical” of the title — singing as she devours it. The flavor of “sheer happiness” / “sugar bliss” surfaces her happiest childhood memory (“Linlin… happy birthday… the one and only…”), and her song lays out her life dream, addressed to “Mother”: to build “a place of happiness… where all the races of the globe… are treated with normality… a world of pure tranquility.” Even pacified, she keeps swinging at Luffy mid-song (“but if you leave you’ll have to face… your imminent mortality!”), her citizens chorusing that her loving rule is “a deal with the devil.” Meanwhile, at sea around Cacao Island, the Sun Pirates surface to plug the Thousand Sunny’s hull and clear an escape lane; Jinbei’s old crew reveal they have been quietly bailing the Straw Hats out all along, and they entrust Jinbe to Luffy. Oven boils the seawater to trap the fugitives, vowing he won’t rest until he deals with “the boy who defeated Katakuri,” as Mont-d’Or notes the Queen Mama Chanter is inbound.
New reveals
- Sanji’s cake sates an Emperor. The substitute wedding cake ends Big Mom’s craving-illness and spares all of Totto Land further destruction — Big Mom: “What a wonderfully sweet, delicious cake! ♡ It’s to die for…” (pp. 6-8).
- Big Mom’s dream, in her own words and addressed to Carmel. Her song states her ambition — a country where “all the races of the globe are treated with normality,” “a world of pure tranquility” — and she asks “Mother, do you think… I’ve got enough ability?” (pp. 18-19). Her people’s chorus frames it darkly: “thanks to our loving queen / here we’re all a family / makes Totto Land serene / a deal with the devil!” (p. 19).
- The cake = her happiest memory. The flavor evokes “Linlin… happy birthday… the one and only…” (pp. 16-17) — tying her psyche/weakness to a specific childhood happy memory.
- The Sun Pirates have been the hidden hand. They plug the Sunny’s bilge hole, stole the enemy’s locational intel, and have “been bailing us out of trouble all along” — Luffy: “I can definitely see why they’re your crew, Jimbei!!” The crew then entrusts Jinbe to the Straw Hats (“Take care of Jimbei for us, Straw Hat”) (pp. 10-11).
- Pudding is hailed as Totto Land’s savior (with Chiffon’s chocolate) but tearfully refuses the credit — “It wasn’t me!! …You’re wrong…” (p. 9).
- Oven targets Luffy by reputation: the rank-and-file Big Mom Pirates now register that Katakuri was defeated, and Oven vows revenge on “the boy who defeated Katakuri” (pp. 11-12).

Open questions raised
- What exactly is the childhood happy memory the cake evokes (“Linlin, happy birthday”), and how does it connect to Mother Carmel?
- Will Big Mom’s dream of a multi-race utopia be revealed as inherited from Carmel’s orphanage — and how does its “deal with the devil” coercion corrupt it?
- Does Carrot’s prominence in the color spread foreshadow her continuing on with the Straw Hats past Totto Land?
