• Revealed as captain of the Sun Pirates and “the hero of Fish-Man Island” — the man who struck Mariejois, freed its slaves, and “showed up the Celestial Dragons” (p. 3).

• Hidden slave past revealed. Tiger confesses to his crew (and the reader) that before his Marijoa raid he had himself been captured and enslaved at Marijoa for several years; he raided to free the others because he “couldn’t bear to abandon the other slaves” (pp. 15-16).
• Dies refusing human blood. Mortally wounded in the Foolshout Island ambush, he rejects a life-saving transfusion despite human/fish-man blood compatibility: “I’d rather die than have their blood inside me!! …their blood is unclean!! It’s the blood of our persecutors!!” (pp. 14-15).
• The dying contradiction. He affirms compassionate humans exist and that dying with only hatred as a legacy is foolish, but “my reason is overpowered by the demon in my heart!! • Begs his crew not to tell the island of their tragedy or rage, so youngsters “like Koala who know nothing of the past” can change Fish-Man Island (p. 17).
• “So died the leader of the Sun Pirates… the great Fisher Tiger” (p. 18). His actions “went against everything Queen Otohime wanted to accomplish” (p. 16). After his death Arlong breaks toward genocidal anti-human vengeance while Jinbei holds to Tiger’s restraint.

Fish-Man Island — the aftermath of his death (Ch. 624) — referenced (deceased)

• The truth of his death is laid bare: Tiger had been a slave; betrayed by humans, his hatred made him refuse a human blood transfusion, so he died of his wounds (pp. 2-3). Arlong lied to the Navy to bury this and protect Tiger’s reputation.

Whole Cake Island — his “legendary ship” surfaced as a decoy (Ch. 901) — referenced (deceased)

• The returned Sun Pirates surface a vessel named “Fisher Tiger’s legendary ship” as a decoy to cover the Straw Hats’ escape from Cacao Island (p. 4) — his old crew invoking their late founder’s ship in the escape gambit.
