Chapter 859: Emperor Assassination Plan

Summary

Inside Capone Bege’s fortress, the Bege–Luffy–Sanji alliance lays out the whole plan to kill Big Mom at Pudding’s wedding tea party. Bege explains he can have her dead in five seconds — but only if her near-invulnerable body is first weakened. Caesar (real name Gastino, his heart held hostage by Bege) unveils his weapon, the KX Launcher, loaded with lethal organophosphate gas. The trigger is Big Mom’s one weakness: the portrait of Mother Carmel that sits at an empty seat across from her at every tea party. When a waiter once dropped it, Big Mom screamed, scraped her knees bloody, and lost her defensive resistance for several seconds while unleashing Conqueror’s Haki. The plan: Luffy splits the picture in two as his grand entrance, Bege’s people use earplugs and the KX Launcher in the brief window, the crew also rescues the Vinsmokes, and everyone escapes through Caesar/Brulee’s mirror. Around Totto Land the islands celebrate the holiday wedding; at the Chateau Reiju is conspicuously “in another room,” Big Mom mourns her “dead little skeleton,” and in her own room Pudding drops her sweet act — she intends to shoot Sanji, soak her dress in his blood, then wipe everyone’s memories to keep her good-girl image. The tea party from hell is two and a half hours away.

• Caesar Clown’s real/birth name is Gastino (p. 4). Bege and the Firetank crew taunt him with the nickname “Gas-hiko”; Caesar insists on “Gastino” and forbids it in front of Big Mom.
• The KX Launcher (p. 5) — Caesar’s poison-gas shell weapon; each shell carries a full five-gram dose of “glorious organophosphate gas.” One shell will do the job; he brought two spares.

• The assassination plan (pp. 9–13): split the Carmel picture in two → ~3 seconds before the fit + ~5 seconds of full paralysis → KX Launcher kills Big Mom; earplugs (“Invisible Symphonia System”) protect the killers from the scream; the whole hit inside ten seconds; the alliance also saves Sanji’s family, then dissolves, each escaping Big Mom’s territory via Brulee’s mirror network.
