“Bird-Woman Harpy” Monet · fate unknown · subordinate of “the Master” of Punk Hazard

Profile

A subordinate of “the Master” who runs Punk Hazard, introduced with the caption “Bird-Woman Harpy: Monet” — a winged, bird-taloned woman in striped stockings and a “HAPPY” top (Ch. 662 p. 12). She handles the lab’s surveillance and Den Den Mushi communications, and — reading the “Straw Hat Crew: Back in Business” newspaper — identifies the abducted captives as the Straw Hat Pirates. Calm and amused even as the operation unravels (“Ha ha ha… I knew it”). Her Devil-Fruit power is not shown or named in this chapter.

Arc-by-arc updates

Dressrosa — the Family org chart (Ch. 732) — referenced (org chart)

  • Listed, not present. The Tontatta intelligence org chart places “Officer Monet” as one of two Family members “outside the country” (p. 15) — the dwarves’ intel does not register her Punk Hazard fate.

Dressrosa coup — backstory (Ch. 728, flashback) — abducts Princess Viola

  • Flashback (~10 years ago). Present at Doflamingo’s overnight Dressrosa takeover: in snow-harpy form she mans the palace gates and abducts Princess Viola (Violet) — “Monet?! What are you doing there?!”; “Princess Viola’s been kidnapped!!!” (p. 3) — placing the Riku princess in Doflamingo’s hands a decade before Punk Hazard.

Punk Hazard — struck down by Caesar (Ch. 694)

  • Poised next to the second gas weapon’s switch, Monet is struck down by her own returned heart: Caesar, believing he holds Smoker’s heart, crushes it to kill Smoker (“Die, Smoker!!!”) — but Law had “considerately returned” Caesar her OWN heart, so Monet is the one struck down (pp. 12–15). “What happened…? Monet, talk to me!!!” — she collapses.
  • Her fall scrubs the operative who was poised to detonate the hidden second gas weapon.

Punk Hazard — the suicide order (Ch. 693)

  • Alive after the battle, she reports to Joker by Den Den Mushi: Caesar was knocked away but will be retrieved; Vergo has fallen (pp. 15-16).
  • Accepts Doflamingo’s order to detonate the hidden second gas weapon — positioning herself “right next to the switch,” knowing the blast will reach the tanker and destroy everything. Calls him “young master” and answers his “Die for me” with “Understood…” (pp. 16-17). A defining loyalty beat. Cross-link Monet’s Young-Master Address And Die-For-Me Loyalty Tell.

Punk Hazard / Dressrosa (Ch. 692) — referenced: Doflamingo asks after her

  • Named by Doflamingo, who asks after “Monet and Vergo” while issuing orders about Caesar (p. 19). (Mention only — she does not appear on-page this chapter.)

Punk Hazard (Ch. 687) — guards the corridor; her snow-Logia powers shown in full; defeated by Zoro + Tashigi

  • Holds the Biscuits Room hallway to keep the marines from advancing; the G-5 men fear her as “another Logia besides Caesar” (p. 2). Calls Tashigi “Smoker’s right-hand-woman” (p. 9).
  • Weaponizes her foes’ chivalry — “Is it because I’m a woman? Why don’t you kill me?!” (p. 5) — and taunts throughout (“Hee hee ♡”).
  • First full display of her snow powers: Snow Rabbits (p. 9), Snow-Storm (p. 9), harpy-form talons/teeth (bites Tashigi’s shoulder, p. 11), and Logia self-regeneration — reforms after Zoro cuts her in two (p. 16). (Her Devil Fruit is still NOT named on-page — only “Logia”/“snow-woman.”)
  • Defeated: paralyzed by Zoro’s overwhelming killing intent without Haki (she “can’t control her own body,” p. 17), then dropped by Tashigi’s “Cutting Mist” (p. 18).

Punk Hazard (Ch. 686) — snow-Logia power demonstrated in full; the stalling tell

  • Devil-Fruit power shown in full — her snow Logia: sinks into the snow (p. 9), raises a “Snow Wall” to seal the exit and “Permafrost” to freeze the floor (p. 10), lays a “Snow Sheet” (p. 14), and bites a Marine’s shoulder with a snow body that shrugs off gunfire — G-5 confirm “She’s got Logia powers!!!” (p. 18).
  • Heat is her counter: Sanji’s “Heat Egg” drives her back — “I knew heat would work!” (p. 9).
  • Fights defensively against Nami, Robin, Sanji, Zoro and the G-5 Marines to keep them from the children; pinned by Robin’s “Quatro Mano” (p. 12) and slashed by Zoro’s “Skin Blade” (p. 15) but reforms.
  • The stalling tell: Zoro notes she “only defends, never attacks” (p. 15) — she is buying time. See Monet Only Defends Never Attacks She Is Stalling For Time.
  • States her job is “to protect Caesar and the experiment” and calls the children “master’s precious test subjects” (p. 13); shown in flashback as the children’s kindly handler “Miss Monet” (p. 6).

Punk Hazard (Ch. 685) — Devil Fruit named; confirmed Logia

  • Her snow/ice power is named on-page as the Yuki Yuki no Mi (Snow-Snow Fruit) (Sanji: “her snow-snow fruit powers,” p. 17) and confirmed a Logia (Zoro: “She’s a Logia type! I’ll handle this!!”, p. 19).
  • She floods the Biscuits Room with snow to stall the rescue; Robin pins her (“No interfering, now,” p. 19) so Zoro can engage.

Punk Hazard (Ch. 683) — snow/ice fruit demo vs Luffy; guards the children

  • Addressed by name in dialogue for the first time (Mocha: “It’s Miss Monet!!”, p. 13).
  • Full snow/ice Devil-Fruit demonstration vs Luffy in Caesar’s Lab Room (Structure C): a Ten-Layer Igloo defense (p. 3), a freezing body that saps stamina on grab (p. 4), and a snow-and-sleep hypnotic lull (“you must be getting sleepy”, p. 5). Fruit still unnamed on-page.
  • Manages the captive children and guards the candy/exit; tells a girl to keep the Secret Room (the dragon-child) “hush-hush from the other kids” (p. 2). Blocks Mocha’s escape (p. 13).
  • Luffy escapes her by punching through the floor (Gum-Gum Jet Spear), dropping toward the underground trash dump; she remarks he “won’t be coming back up, unless he can fly” (p. 6).

Punk Hazard (Ch. 682) — in Joker’s chain of command

Punk Hazard (Ch. 681) — covers the Master’s escape

  • Urges Caesar to flee (“this fight is pointless!! now’s your chance to flee, Master!!”) and physically snares Luffy with a wing/snow grab to stop him pursuing — “if anything happens to the Master… you’re not going after him!!” (pp. 12–13).

Punk Hazard (Ch. 675) — the shape-shifting spy

  • Caesar reveals Monet “cleverly changed her shape to follow” Law and overheard his entire plan undetected (p. 10) — confirming a transformation/disguise ability.
  • Operates the broadcast: “Master, the video feed is ready” (p. 11); cues the video for the underworld brokers.

Punk Hazard (Ch. 674) — runs the broadcast; preps “Smiley’s meal” (voice)

Punk Hazard (Ch. 673) — in the lab with Vergo

  • In Caesar’s lab with Vergo, observing as the experiment is readied; delivers the hamburger-on-the-cheek gag (p. 15).

Punk Hazard (Ch. 672) — exposed as Joker’s planted spy (referenced)

  • Vergo reveals (p. 2) that Joker’s organization “doesn’t trust Caesar either” and “that’s why he went to the trouble of planting Monet here.” Monet is recast as a Joker mole embedded in Caesar’s lab, not merely his secretary.

Punk Hazard (Ch. 671) — coerced by Law; guards the lab

  • The flirtatious bird-woman (“Is that the bird-woman Usopp mentioned…?”) with feathered wings and bird legs takes flight inside the lab (pp. 4–5).
  • Caesar (“Master”) is absent; only Monet guards the lab. Law confronts her and coerces her to come with him to “make use of” her powers; she plays along — “Are we going on a date? How lovely. ♡” (pp. 4–5).

Punk Hazard (Ch. 666) — delivers Law’s dossier; counsels caution

  • In Caesar’s lab during the Law negotiation; delivers Law’s dossier — North Blue, the Surgeon of Death, the Op-Op Fruit, a doctor (p. 6).
  • Counsels caution on Law: “I don’t trust you, but I don’t see the harm.” (p. 6)
  • Named-not-shown: Caesar notes “Monet has been urging caution with these pirates” (p. 17) — she reads the Straw Hats as a real threat where Caesar is dismissive (“it seems like overkill to me”).

Punk Hazard (Ch. 664) — Caesar’s intelligence aide; the bounty briefing

  • Reports the Straw Hats’ bounty total ฿800,000,050 to Caesar Clown (“the Master”) and warns they may be “tougher than the numbers suggest” after two quiet years (p. 9).
  • Identified as one of Trafalgar Law’s animal-grafted recipients — “the bird-woman” alongside the centaurs (p. 15).

  • Cross-links: Punk Hazard (the lab she runs surveillance for), Punk Hazard’s Captive Children (she IDs the abducted Straw Hats).
  • Etymology : “Monet” → French Impressionist Claude Monet (snow-scene painter); “HAPPY”/harpy near-homonym pun (ハッピー/ハーピー), reinforced by her Aug 27 ha-ni-na “become a Harpy” birthday goroawase. See etymology frontmatter. Sources: One Piece Wiki Trivia (Monet); SBS 71/75 (birthday/age).
