• Mortally wounded and unable to move in the smoke-filled S.A.D. room, Vergo still clutches the cube containing Smoker’s carved-out heart — “Shu Ho Ho! This is Smoker’s heart! What a thoughtful gift!” — and resolves to crush it to take someone down with him as the lab collapses (p. 11).

Punk Hazard / Dressrosa (Ch. 692) — referenced: Doflamingo asks after him

Punk Hazard (Ch. 691) — sliced apart by Law; the “Joker’s past” taunt

• Defeated by Law in the S.A.D. Manufacturing Room (Structure D); shown sliced apart in his Marine coat (pp. 8–9). Law leaves him in the room set to explode — “Good-bye… Vergo the pirate.” (p. 9).
