Chapter 672: My Name Is Kin'emon!!

Summary

Three fronts unfold simultaneously on Punk Hazard. Vergo — captioned “Mystery Man Vergo” — appears in person behind the lab and brutally beats the captured, weakened Trafalgar Law, demanding to be called “Mr. Vergo” and revealing that Joker’s organization never trusted Caesar Clown (it planted Monet to watch him) and that Vergo rode in from Dressrosa on an “S.A.D. tanker” (pp. 2-4). In front of the laboratory, Caesar knocks out Smoker, Tashigi, and the three Luffy-team fighters at range with his gas “without even touching them” — G-5 wonders if it was the Haki of the Supreme King — then orders the five power-users bound in sea-prism-stone shackles and his soldiers herded inside, away from the “strange substance falling from the sky” (pp. 5-8). At Punk Hazard’s poison center-lake, Team Zoro (Zoro, Brook, Sanji-in-Nami’s-body, and the dismembered samurai) battles the toxic slime; Sanji uses Blue Walk and a Joue Shot to recover the samurai’s torso from a shark, and the samurai is finally reassembled. He weeps with joy, names himself Foxfire Kin’emon, samurai of Wano from Kuri, vows to rescue his son Momonosuke from the lab, and reveals his flame-cutting sword style — which Zoro uses as a pretext to join the rescue mission (pp. 9-19).

• Kin’emon is fully reassembled and gives his full self-introduction: “Foxfire Kin’emon… from Kuri of the land of Wano” (caption “Samurai of Wano — Foxfire Kin’emon,” p. 14).
